A PCC is generally valid for 12 months from the date of its issue. Once you have submitted it within this time frame, it is very unlikely that CIC would ask you to get the PCC done again.

Edit: Provided you submit it within the 90 days limit that the letter may have stated.

Hi, our Mom is in Canada with us. She applied and received her police clearance from her country of residence already a year ago. Do you know if it is still valid or we need to apply for another one even if she never returned to that country after she got the police certificate yet?

Thanks Sakamath for the clarification. Glad to know I can still use the same PCC's and do not have to get new ones.

Hi everyone,

I was not checking the forum for a while because I was crazy busy. I have one question from regulars,
Did any one from Ottawa processing centre got visa yet?

Thanks,

If we go by common sense, there should not be need for another PCC, as your mom did not live/visit in that country after getting PCC from there. However, the thumb rule from CIC is that PCC should not be 3 months old when submitted. You may send the old PCC with the explanation on the separate sheet and then it'd be discretion of CIC officer.

hopefully after this long weekend CIC will speed up all the processing.

Sent documents to CPC-M in July......still waiting for aor/approval of sponsorship. Till now no news.
eCAS also the same old "application received" in sponsorship part only.

anyone else in the same situation?

busy without work i guess, if you have 10,000 files and a 6,000 quota there is no reason to sit on your ass and look at files.
yes completely agree........applicants have to get unite and sign petition or else just keep waiting for another couple of years (if they keep on processing in this way).......in 2 months it will be 1 year when immigration minister declared new rules to clear backlog and after 10 months majority haven't even got medical request
i contacted MP for status of my file and got reply from MP that file has been rec'd at ND and they haven't even did initial review.....so at least another 3 months or more for medical and then another 5 - 6 months for visa (maybe) so approx. 1 more year to wait for visa....so sad, and govt. is talking to reduce backlog......in what sense?
