I know this question is not relevant for this thread but i didnt get any response from super visa thread so I am posting it here if anyone can advise, would appreciate it.

Question: My father is now retired and no income source except his sons income and rental income in that case he wont be able to provide the job letter or enough income proof but off course i will be his sponsor for super visa and have enough LICO/bank stmts, insurance etc.
Would that be a issue if he doesn't have enough income/job ?

As others already pointed out that income is not a key factor but if I were you I would still show some fund. e.g. Rental Income, If any Fixed Deposits, value of the any house or any other property your father owns.. It is very important to show your father's relatives back home if any... If you have already applied for your parent's sponsorship .. do mention that in your sponsor letter.. with the file number etc..

Again all this does not really guarantee anything .. All depends on Visa officer..

My sponsorship was approved and app file was transferred to LVO Singapore on May 7th 2012. It's been 3 months waiting for medical request. Is there anybody here in the same status?

I am getting frustrated. Looks like the officer is sitting on my parents medical file and waiting for their old medical records from last year from ND. It is about 3 months now since the medicals were received by Ottawa and status does not show medical received. Anyone in this forum whose medical status took that long?

I will be ordering GCMS notes again soon.

Mom's medical was done last year for Visitor visa extension but within Canada (CPC-O or CPC-M office).
I will know in next 2 weeks if it changes to "medical received" status.

The quota for Ottawa changed from 15000 to 11000. In this case, those files transferred to Ottawa after March 15th, will be processed and approved in 2013 or after.

How do you arrive at the date march 15th, is it some official information or just speculation? F

That's just guessing. By April 8th, Ottawa received 11665, which is more than 11k. Files transferred prior to March 1st are safe.

What makes you think that you will know in 2 weeks about medicals?

Hello everyone, I am being sponsored by my daughter and her husband who are in Canada. My timeline is application made 29/4/2008 and my daughter and her husband were approved to sponsor me 16/2/2012. My case was then passed to Ottawa and the sent to LVO which is London. This was done on the 16/5/2012.
I have heard nothing since re medical requests so a few weeks ago I tried to send an e-mail to the London Visa Office asking how long I may have to wait now for the medical but the electronic form did not recognise the e-mail address I use (I had also given this e-mail address on my forms). I sent the electronic form using another e-mail address and that went ok. I then began to worry if perhaps they had tried to contact to go for the medical me using my normal e-mail address and it had not reached me so I sent a letter by special delivery telling them to use the other e-mail address instead and if possible contact me re medical by normal postal mail.
I got a reply to my e-mail but it just told me to refer to the processing times given for Parents and Grandparents at London which I see is given as 21 months!

Is anyone else here dealing with the London Visa Office? I was hoping to have had a letter to go for my medical by now. Mine is a very straightforward case with me as the only applicant for Canada.

wec660, I think your projections are not quite accurate.
According to the link you provided, Ottawa Pilot only received 113 application by March 31. The rest 11552 were received in the first days of April (11665-113). So we don't know:
1) by when they received 11,000 (beginning of April some time)
2) which 11,000 will be finalized in 2012. It is not as simple. Some people have extra medical to do. Some don't. Some people have more comlicated security cases (military service etc). Some don't. That means that some later applications might be processed whereas earlier applications will not (if they are complicated).

We are also being sponsored from UK by our daughter and son- in- law in Canada but our case was transferred to Ottowa. I know of one recent approval from London of a case similar to yours but with a straightforward 1st medical and no re meds. That case was finalised in less than a month after medicals. Also a single parent. We did our medicals on 18th July and are now waiting.

BTW, when we talk at these numbers 11K etc, these are individuals being sponsored, 11k doesnt mean 11K files with father/mother, 11K ( would mean 5500 if you count just father/mother )? is that how it is?

I think they are counting applications, not people. SO hopefully 11k means 11K applications (where father and mother woudl count as 1 application) Otherwise it would be too complicated for them to count and make those reports
