CIC launched a public consultation on the redesign of the Parents and Grandparents Immigration Program. Immigration Canada like to hear from the public. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and the result will be posted after it closes on May 31st.
Please fill this survey. Our opinions count. CIC is planning to charge $40000/parent fees for parent sponsorship, which means you have to pay $80000 if you sponsor your parents (two person). Also, CIC will extend sponsorship term from 10 years to life time.

I filled the survey and I do suggest that everyone on this forum fill it too

Thanks SnSpring, PAri4u, sibnadian and Spons!

I have one more update: I just called CIC and the agent was so helpful. She informed me that they have mailed another letter to me on April 30, 2012 stating that I have been approved as a sponsor and that my file has been forwarded to the local visa office (Nairobi). Waiting for the letter now. I am not sure what the processing time is in Nairobi but I also submitted the PCC for my parents together with the application in Feb 2012. So I guess what's remaining is medicals and payment of fees.

gaggidhillon and Spons, no e-cas status change for me though.

My e-cas changed to two lines today and shows details of PR application.... :)

The letter I received is exactly the same as user828's. Although the UCI number they provided on the letter does not work on e-cas. I can only view the status with my 8 digit file number (_ _ _ _-_ _ _ _)

sakamath, are you a representative on your parents' file? Did you submit consent to obtain personal info?

Though I am the representative of my mom, to get the GCMS notes, you can get it even if you are not your parent's representative on theor PR application (IMM008). Getting GCMS notes is independent of the PR process. These notes can be asked for by any Canadians living in Canada. If you are asking for notes on your parent's file (so, obviously they are not Canadians), you must submit a consent form. A consent form should be submitted each time you want to request GCMS notes.

FYI, if one has patience, getting GCMS notes is extremely easy. You just need to fill out a couple of forms, pay the $5 fee online and submit the forms as well as the receipt via email. In exactly a month, you would receive your notes.

Today, I received additional medical request mail for my parents. Letter is dated April 27 and there is a sealed envelope for DMP. They have given 90 days to complete the re-medical.
Hmmm... It seems CIC is so concerned about medicals as a result they are requesting additional medical exams.
I hope and wish everything will be alright.

I guess I need to send representative forms ASAP, otherwise they may contact my parents address in case if they need additional exams, which will take longer to reach them.

Thanks. The context of my question was whether you had to fill a consent form to get GCMS or being a representative enough? Logically, you should not need to, if you are a rep. That's why i asked whether you submitted a consent or not.

is your e-cas showing the decision made? Or just your parents and dependants?

For additional exams they don't inform you by email? The request for medicals, did you received it by email or your parents by mail? If you send representative now, how many time takes to be available?
How do you send representative forms: email, fax or mail?

Congratulations simrank! My ecas is not working since yesterday morning...does that mean that there is some update in progress of the status? I am still waiting for AOR for last 4 months? Not sure why I am unable to see ecas application status.....it was working last week.

Hii wec660 i feel ur pain.....i would love to fill that survey but your link doesn't work

The link for Immigration Canada Survey should be:
Please add h t t p : // before the following link
cic.sondages-surveys.ca/s/PGP/?l=en

no update for me yet. i just called CIC..
it seems like the agents now dont tell you that no updates could be available. they take your client id info and check on the file for you.. maybe coz CIC has started sending out letters abour receiving additional docs.

i though that medicals expire 12 months after they are done... so in my case medicals were done on March 3 2012 so they will expire on March 3 2013... but the due date in the GCMS notes is Jan 2013 - it's 12 months since my case was approved and transferred to Ottawa...

honestly i think that only one Due date makes sence - the one in the Application Assignment section... it looks reasonable - they sent me medicals and pcc request and gave me 2 months for it... so after 2 months they are going to check if i did what they've asked for...

i hope that next GCMS notes will give more information... at least i hope to see if CIC received my medicals and PCC... and started Security and Criminality...

To Shuga and Sakamath..

Can you both please provide details ofthe GCMS notes. I want to compare them based on the your dates on the google spreadsheet
