just fill in uneducated then : P

I think what he is asking is if they have a degree but not have the certificate to prove it..

In that case try to get something from University or School and see if they can get that information...

how can you not have a certificate :o
if they have lost it ,then they can get a duplicate..but its a tedious process

Does anybody know if education/work papers are required for parents?
Our local office used to ask for it... but not sure if CPP-Ottawa will also ask the same papers as local offices ask...

Nothing was asked in my case.

If you declared on the application about the level of thier education (your parent/s), then they will ask for the authenticity of the documents. The more info you put, the more docs they ask.

Mine, I did not put much... so no documents ask, now I'm waiting for my mom visa.

how can you NOT declare if they ask about the level of education?
My mom graduated from university. Do you suggest that i should have just said "high school"?

If your mom have her university certificates ,you can declare.

As far as I know that CIC don’t need the certificate or diploma to send for parents but , if they have dependent child accompanying them then they have to provide all the transcript which prove that he/ she still dependent and fulltime student. because if you see the document checklist or guide they didn’t ask for the parent education certificate they only ask the information’s what they have done , i think it’s just to keep the record that you have done this much study in parents category education is not matter as it doesn’t matter if the parents is well educated or not they still can’t stop them coming. if it was skilled worker visa or something then they needs to provide the transcript i guess. my understanding is that if you read the IMM 008 declarations carefully the information is get shared for the evaluations purpose only, so dont think you needs to provide the documents for the study you just provide th study details only ;D

@Pari4u, I think you are correct and it makes sense as well

Shuga,
I understand that we are from the same country :). Do you know if CPC-O or CPC-home country will ask for translated copies of the work book and diplomas/degrees from post-secondary institutions from parents?
I should probably tell my mom to notarize her workbook and university diploma, just in case.

Why would they need diploma and workbook from parents? They used to not request this type of paperwork on family sponsorship. They do already ask about diplomas and work history in the application forms...

yes, I know they ask in the forms. My question was will they ask to prove it later by submitting actual documents confirming education and work history? Not that we don't have the proof, I just want to be prepared ahead of time (notarizing, translating, etc).

I know for spousal sponsorship, they ask for actual documents.

I do understand that it takes some money to have them all notarized, etc. But I guess it is better to have them ready by hand, just in case, it will sure save you time if they do request them by chance. Just my opinion.

Suin, yah if that the case u can do it , as i didnt herd they ask them so far so thats why i said,
thanks
