Where did you find that someone from Dec. 2009 received a letter requesting additional docs?
I submitted my initial application in March 2009 and I still have not received any request to submit additional docs.
on another forum :)
it's not in english - does not make sence to give you a link...
if that's true - then other people will also receive letters soon and post their info here...

Could it be a typo? maybe its Dec 2008 and not 2009? If its really 2009 then certainly there would be a lot of chatter in this forum itself.

Hi Guys. I just landed on this forum by luck and there is a wealth of information here. Thanks a Ton to all of you for sharing your info.

I am waiting for PR for my parents

1) 31st Oct 2008 --Applied first time
2) 25 Nov 2011 -- Got a request from CPC-M for additional docs
3) 12th Jan 2012 -- CPC-M received additional docs
4) 17th Feb 2012 Got a letter that my application is complete
5) 1st Mar 2012 -- Got another letter that my case has been forwarded to CPP - Ottawa

I have two questions may be some one can help.
Q1) I have given my email address as well as my parents India's address. Now I am wondering will I get further communication (Regarding medical and PCC) from CPP-Ottwa via email or will my parents get communication via a letter or both?

Q2) When I got the letter (For Additional Docs) in nov 2011 I told my parents to get PCC's and they got it on Dec 12th 2011. But since I haven't heard any thing from CPP-Ottwa regarding PCC's, Should I go ahead and submit PCC before they request. I am not sure if they will be valid for a long time. But the point is that PCC's were obtained after the letter for additional docs which said that you should start working on getting a pcc. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

If you have provided email in the form then you should be getting an email from them.. I mean thats what I am reading so far on this forum..

As long as I recall PCC is valid for 6 months... I personally do not think, again based on the reading this thread, you will need to apply PCC again.. If you go by other users timeline you should be getting an email in 2 - 3 weeks time.. but then there is SponsorParents user who did not hear anything and he is in his 4th week ??!!.. 6 month is the key.. so you can take an educated guess when is the good time to apply another PCC..

By the way did you mean your parents got PCC on Dec 12th 2011 ? :p

vik_indian: A PCC is generally valid for one year. Since there wouldn't be any other documents that you need to submit, you can forward the PCC along with a covering letter mentioning your file number. That would reduce processing time, in case you wait to hear from them regarding the PCC.
Congrats on the progress of your application and good luck on the final outcome!

Hi Sakamath,
Thanks for your wishes. Actually I still need to hear for a medical request from them. But I will go ahead and mail the PCC's to CPP Ottawa tonight along with a cover letter. Unless some other members have more light to shed on this.

Thanks :)

Hi vik_indian, thanks for sharing your timelines.
Regarding PCC, you can either send it right away or hold until they ask for it. I don't think it will do any wonders in processing time as you have to wait for next steps until they evaluate medicals anyway.
Also, I don't think there is an expiration for PCC, only catch is that "The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application." http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/intro.asp
For myself, I received my parents PCC recently, I haven't sent it to CPP-O.

Even though this bulletin is little old, this should shed some light on what CPP-O will be doing till April 2012.

Hi sponsorparents,
Thanks for the link. It's pretty useful. Did CPP-O ask you for PCC or you sent proactively? Did you send it to CPP-O or CHC of your parent's home country?

Your DMP would be sending the medical reports directly to the concerned office, so you won't have anything to submit when you hear from CIC regarding medical request.

My parents sent me their PCC from back home couple of days back. I have not sent them to CPP-O yet. I have yet to receive medicals and PCC request form CPP-O. To avoid delays its always better to send docs to CIC office that is currently processing your application.
