Ohhk are they from one our forums? they sent documents after you but got medical req before you!! see it all varies we cant predict anything. I hope they ask you soon..my understanding is it depends on the officer we get some are fast and some are lazzy :-\ .I know they asked to obtain PCC but i think they didnt know that process will take this long. I didnt send PCC with documents cuz i know my file is going to LVO. So i will send it when they ask for it. No they did not mention any time period. All it says is "Your application is now in queue and will be processed based on the date that the complete application was received".
No kandel, they are not frm dis forum...they are jus knwn to me....i think u r right it all depend on da officer.. hwever, da AOR i recvd frm ND via an e-mail mentioned dat its gona take 9 months to initial review (under parent grand-parent category)....i think we cum under dat category (with dependents)?....hwever for "other relatives" it says 43 months for initial review....well, they also mentioned to keep checking their website "cic.india.gc" for current processing times which says "currently finalizing applications recvd early to mid 2008".....its so unpridictable....

To sonu 86:--
my file transfer to delhi on jan20 with dependant and i received AOR on feb 10 after that no update while singh nx1 and rick 2007 partents got medical request whose files transfer to new delhi after me ,i think parents with dependant require intervies thats why no update until now.

I think the 3 of us have similar timeline but I have a sibling as a dependent though. Mine was "In Process" since August 9th. Not really panicking but my Mum is in the States and she is supposed to fly back to Manila next month. If we don't get her passport then, we need to re-schedule her flight again and we already did this once. That is the hassle..

Oh great, my dad has my mom and 2 dependent children in his application. My parents are here in Canada with Super Visa since April. You and june_bug have the same processing start date. June_bug's mom is in Toronto with TRV the return ticket is in October. What's odd/new about your timeline is that you got PPR before MR. "We may not be in the same boat, but we are in the same sea."

I guess my situation is unique. But I know that MR is to follow as they cannot come here without medical clearance. Oh well... we will just have to wait. Thanks Moraine.

Interview?? I thought they will only call you for interview if they have any doubts...but i do believe that having dependant means more paper work thats why they are keeping our files on sides....again i might be wrong

Hi,
Question to those who has parents in Canada on visitor visa during the second stage and had them go for medicals (for immigration) here in Canada.

What happens if DMP asks for additional tests or specialist check (hope not but never say never)? Did anyone got asked for any documents from past medical history or their doctor(s).
I am hoping that my parents come visit me soon but it may happen that we get a medical request during their visit. I know we can go for medicals here but not sure how to deal with past history. Not sure if they need to prepare something in advance and if so, not sure what the format should be ...
I would hate for them to have to go back earlier than planned just because of that...

Also, my father had some surgeries in the past but they were really a long time ago (over 20 years I think). It was in a different city that they currnetly live (they moved cities and did not really take any medical history as the problem was logn resolved). Plus at that time all records were paper based so there is no way we can find anything now in case DMP requests any documents. Has anyone been in such a situation?

Thanks!

Hi HB15030, just curious - why are you saying your parents can not come here without medical clearance? Are you saying that they can not visit without medical clearance? I thought that if parents are visiting and got medical request while here, they can do medicals here (based on members' examples on this forums and others).

Anik,

While visiting me, mom had her medical visit here – sometimes at the beginning of May.
She needed to bring in her medications and her reading glasses. Six weeks later, we got “medicals received” on our file.
I guess the only problem arises when/if your parents are asked to do additional tests and they have returned home. I do not know if parents can do the medicals with one doctor in one country, and do the additional tests with a different doctor in a different country.

i think doctors are interested only in relatively recent surgeries (5 years or less)... my father had a very similar case - an emergency surgery over 20 years ago in a different country... so there is no paperwork and no much information about it... he just explained it to the doctor - no additional questions were asked... he passed medicals... of course every case is different...

So If I understand you correctly, your came here on Visit Visa and she got meds done in your home country or she was visiting here and you asked for extension > which required meds
She got it done and then you saw Meds Recieved for PR app

OR

You got her meds done here coz they asked for PR?
