That's a stress in itself, isn't it? At least the hope is you'd see your children at the other side.

We have to thank CIC for that(grr). However hard or difficult their processes may be, we are coping that by building friendships.

Everyone one on this forum needs that help. Thank you!

Did someone who filed application from January to April 2008 already received aprroval for the sponsorship ? The CIC agent says that it's still in the queue and I do not understand why it takes so long !!! The PR applications sent to CPC-M in December 2011.

Do you know guys if the sponsors from Quebec are in the separate queue ? Also, I filed a CAIPS 2 weeks ago, but did not get the answer from them yet...

Any thoughts ? ::)

The document (link at the bottom on my signature), has quite a people whose applications were approved. My application (filed in Oct'08) has been approved too. The CIC agent may have given a generic reply. Try calling them again (at different times of the day) and see if you get another response.

Not sure if sponsors from Quebec are processed separately. And CAIPS takes at least a month (or a little less) to arrive.

Hello Forum Members,

I want to share my experience in my mother's case.

Application filed: May 2008
Request to update: November 25, 2011
Information sent: December 2011
AOR received: Stating rejection of the case on the plea of not having sufficient income.
File transferred: Local Visa Office New Delhi
Additional Infor: Sent in March 2012 (Option C and other stubs)
AOR received: Stating eligibility for sponsoring parents
Medicals requested: No
Medicals sent : No

My case was rejected on the plea of not having sufficient income, but it was miscalculation on the part of CPC-M. In February, 2012, we received rejection letter stating that our application has been transferred to New Delhi Visa Office (as there is a option, though the application is rejected, still you want the application to be sent to LVO) It was tagged as yes by us. CPC Mississauga has already sent the file to New Delhi on December 2011 itself, So Option C for 2007, 08, 09, 10 were sent to New Delhi via email and faxed to CPC Mississauga. But in the mid of April received a approval letter from MIssissauga Office stating our approval of sponsorship.

After that on my e-cas the approval status is not updated. It is stating the old letter reference of FEbruary 2012 (rejection letter reference), Anyone can guide. I contacted CPC Mississauga but all in vain, no proper response. I asked as to why the approval letter is ot updated, but they say just keep you copy safe. Nothing else.

I don't know what to do.

Please advise.
Hii jasu..woww u must have had a panic attack after getting rejection letter...crazy cpc workers how can they make mistake?? :-X i think u should call cic few tyms until u find helpful agent i know it sounds cheesy but thats what we all have done keep on calling until u find nice agent who is willing to help and on the other hand even if u dont find good agent dont worry because u have proof of approval now..but if u r still worried then dont hesitate to go to ur local mp's office...they will be able to give u accurate answer but first try cic agents. gud luck

I have a feeling that they reached the limit and stopped processing the files. Who knows, maybe until end of the summer :(
I do not see any other reason wy our complete applications still in the queue and not beeing reviewed...

I agree, they are already reached that point. I think once they started transferring files to LVO. They open up new applications. Till that point I do not see any more activity. I expect files will move by week every month for next 3-4 months. Then hardly any till next year.

Ottawa loses legal battle over immigration backlog

Ottawa has suffered a major setback in eliminating its immigration backlog after the federal court ruled the government is obliged to process all applications it accepted into the system.

About 900 applicants under the federal skilled workers’ program sued Immigration Minister Jason Kenney for violating the pledge to assess and finalize decisions in a timely fashion.

They asked the court to order the immigration department to process their applications within a reasonable time frame.

In a decision released Thursday, Justice Donald Rennie rejected the minister’s argument that the delay is justified because he has the authority to make policies.

“The minister can set instructions that permit him to return some applications without processing them at all, and thus obviously there is no further duty in respect of those applications,” the judge wrote in a 24-page decision.

“However, for those that are determined eligible for processing, the duty to do so in a reasonably timely manner remains.”

In February 2008, the law was changed to give Kenney authority to issue ministerial instructions regarding which applications would be eligible for processing and to remove the obligation to process each application received.

As a result, the litigants argued, their applications were “warehoused” in a lengthy backlog from five to nine years.

Despite the new measure, the court said Ottawa still failed to finalize a file within the six and 12 months Kenney promised — the first ministerial applications have been outstanding between 24 and 52 months.

Immigration has until Oct. 14 to finalize the application of the case’s lead litigant, an IT project manager in China.

Although the court falls short on making an order for all 900 applicants, Thursday’s decision sets the stage for the prompt processing of the other litigants.

“So long as the applicants are not to blame for the delay, a fair application of Justice Rennie’s ruling would require Ottawa to finalize their applications by October 14,” said their lawyer, Tim Leahy.

The decision is final because the court refused the minister’s request for appeal, added Leahy. The next step is for opposing counsels to determine how to proceed with the remaining cases

Quick update. Bad news guys !!! Spoke to the call center's agent and he said that those who did not get yet approvals for the sponsorship will need to wait for another year... :o Sounds like the door that was a bit opened for us is closed again... :(
