Right, your brother should not get married or enter into a common law partnership (live with a partner for 12 months or longer in a relationship) if he wants to keep his dependent status. It is better for him to remain a dependent and land in Canada as a PR. After that, he can return to home country, get married, then return to Canada and sponsor his spouse.

Hi
I have applied recently for PG family sponsorship for my parents (January 4, 2016). Suddenly my Dad passed away and he was primary applicant. I checked recently using my old client id and i see that status as " Application received for Family Sponsorship" . I would still want this to be progressed for my Mom. Would I need to contact CIC in this regard and update ? What is the procedure ? Any help is really appreciated.

I feel sorry for the loss your parent. And pray to GOD to give you strength to you and your family to deal with this sad situation.
You need to inform CPC-M about the change in the Family structure, in addition due to your current condition there could be some changes in the length of wait / processing time.
Strongly recommend you to contact CPC-M and write a request letter for some special consideration

Dear Experts,

My Elder Brother sponsored my parents in 2010, at that time my younger brother was below 21 and he was taken as dependent and applied. Now in 2016 he is still completing his masters. Now processing has been started for my parents case and cic asked for medical along with a couple of documents. I wanted to ask one question, If my younger brother get married before his VISA stamping, will he lose the immigration chance as dependent? or he can show he is married and continue with immigration process as dependent and will sponsor his wife later.

read between the lines. Never know how long it would take to get PR for your parents and brother
its not fair to ask your brother not to get married until he get his PR

Best thing he could do is, get married Unofficially (read between the lines). once he gets has PR, complete his Lands in Canada, apply for SIN and Health card and go back to his home country and then get Officially Marriage at local municipal register office.

But make sure he is not in a rush to expanding his family.

in our culture we do not have boy friends girl friends, common law spouse or test drives concepts

CIC have a term for this it's called misrepresentation.

Hi guys,

I received an unexpected email from Ottawa.

In order to process your application, we require the following documents

1- Passport/Travel document -

2- Police Certificate

Please send us scanned versions of the requested documents. Do not submit originals unless otherwise stated

Is this the PPR request everybody gets? I though we had to mail the original passport?

Any advice?

Thanks

Hi, There i was out of touch from a long time to be honest was disappointed. BUT ALLAH HELPED US AND he is helping further. we had our medical on april 16 2015 and a week ago they asked for our fresh passport copies and stated to send it soon as possible as our medical will expire our visa office is London and we filed our case 2010 march . Someone said its ppr one? what does that mean? is it a good sign and will they finalize before our medical expiry date?

Your reviews are appreciated we are family from khi, Pakistan.

If individual qualify only to sponsor for 1 parent not both because of minimum income requirement then can Individual apply for one parent sponsorship only?

Also just to make sure for family size count: you have to count yourself and your spouse and then your parents (if you don't have any child) = 4?

Your income must be enough to sponsor both parents even if one is not coming to Canada.
Your calculation of family size based on your example is correct. It is income requirement for family of 4.

Should we start petition at change.org to fast track our cases before they process 2014 to 2016?

Title : CIC Canada should Fast Track processing of PGP applications.

Lots of applications for PGP before NOV 2011 are still waiting for processing. This is more than 5 years of wait and it is affecting all Canadian families who have applied for it. We have seen few of application parents died while waiting for their application to be processed. It is painful wait we all are going though.

Recently we have seen CIC processing the application from 2014 and onwards. Please process these but make some special backlog team to fast track all the applications which are in backlog for than 5 years.

We feel discrimination when our applications are left behind due new applications processing or another categories (such as economic or refugees) are getting higher processing quota.
We all request to take action or make special team to clear this backlog.

Thanks,
