1.We received XXXXXX application for permanent residence on October 30, 2009.

2.We started processing XXXX application on August 16, 2013.

3.Medical results have been received

Any idea how long before they request for passport?

when did you submit your original application? was it Sept 30, 2009?
your case is going fast, congrats!
I applied for my mom in Sept 2009, and was just approved and was sent to Singapore on 30 July 2013.

Yes, my case was sent to CPP Pilot Ottawa.
I thought after medical passport request comes in about a month... however it looks like its taking more time..
Anyone has any idea on how much time after medicals they ask for passport...
Just want to know if cic has slowed down or its just my case.

Well, some of us are waiting since Oct 2012 with passport request so you can calculate

She did medical in Aug 2012...but at that time it was my mon and dad. My dad had medical problems and they asked him to do several additional tests... unfortunately he passed away in July. When i notified CIC they asked my mom to do medicals right away which she did on 25th July 2013 and are waiting since then...

Are you suggesting based on your experience that i should wait till atleast 2014 before i can expect a passport request...

My mom wants to travel to UK for 6 months and i am telling her wait since the pp request can come any time... I know you are not allowed to send PP outside the country by courier and i dont want any further delays in her application

Sorry abt your dad, considering they might give it priority but I would suggest not to travel as it will be hassle to send passport etc and then travel to another foreign country might delay for another background check

Hi, I'm currently waiting for Canadian immigration to receive my parent's medical examination report. Unfortunately, I was laid off from work last week and I would like to know, if that would affect the current application.

According to the Canadian Immigration website:

Sponsorship Application status: Decision Made
Permanent Residence Application Status: Application Received

According to the medical office in the Philippines, the medical results were submitted mid July 2013 (2 months ago).

I'm just worried that being currently unemployed would affect things. Also, if I applied for Employment Insurance, will that too affect any decisions by the Canadian Immigration officer processing our applications?
