Hello! I submitted my application to sponsor my Parents and sister back in 2009 and a few months ago, I received a letter stating that Canadian immigration has found that I'm ok to sponsor my family and that they needed additional information from my parents. Also, they have instructed them to take the medical examinations. My parents have finished the medical exams and now are just waiting to hear back from Canadian immigration.

If granted, nothing's wrong with the medical examination, does that mean they would be granted visa to come to Canada? Are there any possibilities that they can still be denied?

I don't think there will be any reason for denial. Wishing you you parents' case to be finalized the soonest.

@Hunny007 - They just finished their medical exams this July. According to the Canadian immigration's website, the status is "Application Received".

@ Suin - Thank you. I'm praying that things go well and there won't be any issues or delays.

Also, do they check if you are below or above the LICO cut-off again before they issue the visa? I'm curious because the only reason I'm staying at my current job is because of this. I'm afraid that if I switch jobs and go below the cut-off, it will affect the application.

Thank you for the responses! :)

You are always welcome :) No, they do not check your income requirements after they approved your sponsorship eligibility. :)

Hi can someone clear this thing?

I am paying Right of permanent fee for both my mom and dad. So is it $490x2 or $490x1?

Also I am paying online then do the principal applicant needs to sign that payment receipt or me i.e sponsor? I am asking because I am sending forms tomorrow to my parents to sign them and send it back to me. Then I will forward it to Mississauga. So if they need to sign it then I will pay tomorrow and send the receipt along with other forms for them to sign or else I will pay later when I get signed forms back from my parents.

Thanks..

URGENT! Bogota VO passport request..sending them from abroad;;HELP!!!!

HI EVERY ONE, Thanks for reading and for your replies.

As the topic says our sponsorship application is in the visa office in Bogota. We already sent all the paperwork and just took the medical exams a month ago in USA through an authorize medical office.. the visa office received the results already..

This is the situation...I know the next step is to request the passports. The problem that I am having is that I am not in Colombia, which is where the application was submitted. I am in the USA and for some personal reasons I can't travel back to Colombia now when they request the passport. So I am planning to send passport to Colombia via a fedex for example and them have them return back to me from Colombia to the USA by a family member or friend, and from the USA travel directly to Canada.

Now my question is this.. I know that there are a lot of people with a similar situation. I don't know if this is legal to do and this is why I ask.. now what other options do I have? Can I send them with a family member and a notarize affidavit giving them the authorization to do so?!

I need the experience from people who has done a similar thing and everything went fine.. or just whoever has an answer for this.

Your honest answer will be enormously appreciated!!!!!!!!

THANKS AGAIN!

Check with the Passport office in your country or Columbian Embassy/Consulate in USA. They will advise if mailing the passport from one country to another is allowed or not. Some members on this forum have successfully mailed the passports from USA/Canada to their native countries even though it is not allowed by passport authority in their country. Some members travelled themselves or sought help of their friends to carry passport in person from one country to another and delivered in person or via local mail to Canadian Embassies in their native countries.

Your honest acceptance of answer will be enormously appreciated!!!!!!!!

....thats stage 2, after reaching Vienna - but its upto 54 months, doesnt take that long
It's seems very long wait with the whole process it's almost 7-8 years. What is the estimate time we are looking at for them to hear from Vienna again for medicals or Visa. I know that we can't be sure on anything but it's really taking a long time.

1 more question with they have interviews prior to them getting their Visas.

Thanks Valon
