If you want to see the progress of your PGP application, it has to be linked to GCKey secure account. This is a separate account different from PR application portal where you had previously submitted your application.
You can create GCkey account with the link below:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html
Once the account is created, you need to link your PGP application to it. Generally, you will require an Application Number and/or UCI (amongst other application’s details) which you must have gotten if IRCC had established a communication with you about your application.
For successful linking, provided information has to match with what was submitted. Note that you need not to be worried if you’re unable to link your application at this time. For some folks, it may take some time depending when they start processing your file.
Even if you’re unable to link the application; you will still receive all the necessary updates via email.
I hope that helps, good luck!
HiHello,
I received an email to submit Police Certificates. My parents have been living in Canada since last 8 months. do I need to submit Canadian Police Certificate as well? Thank you for you help.
You are not required to provide PCC for time spent in Canada unless specifically requested by IRCC.Hello,
I received an email to submit Police Certificates. My parents have been living in Canada since last 8 months. do I need to submit Canadian Police Certificate as well? Thank you for you help.
Your dad is required to submit two PCCs from your description:My parents got AOR and PCC request today. This is exactly what the letter says:
“
Police Certificate: The principal applicant and their dependant family member (if
applicable) must provide police certificates from:
• Their current country of residence if they have resided there for 6 months or more,
and
• The country where they have spent most of their adult life since the age of 18 (if
different than current country of residence).”
My dad is currently residing in Bangladesh and stayed most of his life in Bangladesh.
Except he was working in UAE from the year 2003-2008. Do I need to submit PCC also for UAE stay?
From the letter, if I understood properly, he needs to submit PCC from his current country of residence that is Bangladesh. Also he has lived most of his adult life in Bangladesh except for the time of 5 years (2003-2008) in UAE.
Any expert opinion on this? Should he only submit PCC from Bangladesh? Does he need to submit PCC from UAE as well? Only catch we want to avoid the UAE PCC is he doesnt have any Emirates ID and online application would require him to give biometric in UAE which would be a quite a hassle for him in his old age.
Your advice is much appreciated!
I applied in July. No document requested.Hi
What ur time lime
When did u apply and any documents requested?
Thank you. I assume this applies for Parents PR visa application? and not just for Express entry? You are not required to provide PCC for time spent in Canada unless specifically requested by IRCC.

Thanks for your input. I know its a general rule that people need to submit pcc for any countrt they lived 6 or more months from the age of 18.Your dad is required to submit two PCCs from your description:
1. Bangladesh (because he lived there more than 6 months after the age of 18 at any point in time of his life)
2. UAE (because he lived more than 6 months after the age of 18 at any point in time of his life)
You answered it yourself; re-read your sentence: "It asked for current country of residence and any country where they lived most of their adult life". In this case "and" being the keyword and "most" meaning any country more than six months. Thanks for your input. I know its a general rule that people need to submit pcc for any countrt they lived 6 or more months from the age of 18.
However, for my letter it did not ask for this. It asked for current country of residence and any country where they lived most of their adult life, which doesnt suffice to be UAE. Very confused
You can attempt to extend their visit but given they have already received 2 extensions they may or may not be approved. The PGP application does not guarantee approval. If they get denied and have to return home it will not have a negative impact on their applicationI’m applying to extend my parents stay in Canada. This will be the third extension. I plan on saying I wish to spend more time with my parents AND they wish to stay while their pgp pr application(submitted in Jul2024) is finalized. Will that cause any issues saying that about the pr app? Or is it okay from a dual intent perspective?
