Hi, please I really need answers
My mum has been in Calgary for 2 years now, I have already linked her application to her cic account. It says medical passed. And her biometrics still valid till 2027.
This morning I received a direct email on both the sponsors email and the email associated with her cic online account from an agent requesting for:
1, police certificate from back home
2, Forms 5569 and 5406
3, birth certificate
4, national id
5, biometrics fees and biometrics.

Please my confusion are :
1, is the request really from immigration? because I thought they are supposed to communicate or request for anything through her cic online account? Rather than direct emailing.
2, since her biometrics is still valid on the online cic account and states it is not needed, why the request for biometrics?
3, please if we need to do the biometrics, any recommendations of where to go for it in Calgary?

So, receiving an email is OK. Question is, did you receive the same message in the GCKey account?

Anyone submitted passport to Delhi IRCC Office. In process since 18th July no update yet for visa stamping.

My parents submitted their passport on July 24th. No update since then.

Hi everyone, pls how long does it take to hear from IRCC after submission of additional documents. Additional documents requested in May 9, submission on May 30. Application submitted December 9 2022, first additional documents requested in March, submitted in April. So am wondering how long it takes to hear from them. I couldn’t link my application with GCKey with the number starting with XF.Pls someone help with a response. Thanks

Was there request for biometrics? And biometrics fee? If yes please how did you pay

Not at all, didn't get any message on her GCkey account, it remains same. That's why am worried if its legit,

that's strange. What is the "from" email ID? If it seems fishy, maybe call the IRCC and inquire about the legitimacy of the email? let them know you're worried because nothing came through the online account and what they're asking seems off.

The ones that I have received before were from Client-update-mise-a-jour@cic.gc.ca. However, those were just updates, and not requests for additional information (unlike yours). Probably it is legit but not a bad idea to give them a shout to be 100% sure. Good luck.

My moms application's last update is July 19 Final decision. We are waiting for ppr. But my moms passport is valid until 25 Feb 2025 which will be 6 months from this Aug 25. Can anyone suggest what should we do in case ppr comes around 20-25 aug? Should we submit the passport or renew it first?

I would advise you to renew it first (pay for an expedited process if there is one in your country) then when the PPR comes and your Mom’s PP isn’t renewed yet, you can request IRCC for an extension of deadline to submit PP.

I just found out you can renew your passport 1 year prior to expiry date in India. I was under the impression that it was 6 months. If I would have known, we must have renewed it. I will renew it in tatkal. Do you know how do they do police verification within three business days as thats the total processing time of tatkal?
