Hello everyone,
The long wait is finally over for us.
My mother landed last week. Do I need to apply for her PR card or it will be automatically sent out to the mailing address?
Thank you and good luck to everyone else still waiting.
First PR card will be mailed to the confirm address at landing.
She doesn't need to apply for it.

Hi All,

My Parents landed on 12th March and I am still not able to link their PR card application in my CIC account. IS there anybody who linked PR Card application?

Can someone tell me why PGP2022 still has so many cases left ? It makes me think PGP 2024 will be even longer. Sad.
It is a yearly quota system and there is a backlog of applications. Processing for PGP applications have typically taken many years but backlog has grown while quota has been recently reduced. PGP is low priority for IRCC since it is typically a drain on resources and not an economic benefit or program that adds to Canada’s working age population.

but how come some people in PGP2023 got their PRs just after 1 year since they applied

It’s not processed exactly chronologically. Things like medicals that need review and/or extra testing, length of background checks, incomplete applications and/or request for information, etc. all factor into processing time. Not all PGP2023 have landed and a small portion of PGP2022 are still left to process. Processing also briefly speed up because of increased quotas that have now been scaled back.

yeah, thanks for your answers.
probably something we can do better to potentially "speed up" our application processing time. e.g., check the application and avoid mistakes. but yes, we cannot control anything else than that.

Not necessarily. Me and my friend applied exactly on same day for our parents in 2022. Her application was processed within 6 months and my mom's application just got final PR stamping. It depends on reasons we don't know what.

As you said " a small portion of PGP 2022 are still left to process. " May I know how many cases left to waiting processing? Thanks. I am one of PGP cases in 2022 and waiting for final decision from IRCC , waiting time is 29months already and being stuck in security check over a year. I really feel confusion.

Same here. Security screening has been 1 year and four months.
My dad had several years of conscript almost 60 years ago, which caused security screening.
Did your parents have military experience or government experience?
