Greeting everyone. We received a message requesting few things by IRCC.

  1. Proof of residential address, which is straight forward ( we are planning to submit driver's license, and utility bills)
  2. Proof of relationship: we submitted marriage certificate and birth certificate at the beginning. Now they are asking, adhaar and voter's ID. What are these?? In the country where my in-laws are there is no voter's ID and what is Adhaar? I search about this and noticed, this is some sort of ID in India but we are not from India, so whay are they asking this?? mistake??
  3. Also, Police certificate, which we will apply and send them soon.
Anyone who received this. They have even asked us Indian Passports and/OCI, not sure what is going on?

Hello everyone, wanted to post it to the 2022 and 2019 PGP profile: I helped my parents apply for visitors visa last year through the Singapore Office. It is still in "secondary review" Since it has been 1 year, I was thinking to reapply. my questions are as follows:

1. Do i have to "retract" the earlier application and then reapply for a new visitors visa?
2. Now that they have also applied for PGP, how does that affect the visitors visa process?
3. Or should we just keep waiting? We applied last April, M.P. requests do not help, same information as we get when we call. At one point it said waiting for officer review.
4. They both have had Canadian visas before, never over stayed any visa around the world. They have a new US visitors visa which I also sent to them via webform.

Thank you for your thoughts, suggestions ahead of time.

One quick question: We submitted birth certificate of the sponsor (as a proof of relationship of sponsor to the principal applicant and dependent spouse). Also, we submitted marriage certificate as a proof of relationship of the principal applicant to dependent spouse. Now we are asked to submit other documents, to to prove the relationship. What else can be submitted?

Anyone received such request?? is this generic information or something they ask when the provided documents are insufficient?

You can send it via email but keep in mind that you won't get any acknowledgement with the email.
I would do both.
Hi Dixo, They have not asked for PCC yet, can I send email to them with my parents PCC? I know the email address where I sent the additional family information they asked for. I believe that email should still work?

Adhar card is for indian, If you are Bangladeshi, you will need Voter ID card. However, can we send the Police Clearance certificate upfront? They have not asked for it yet. If yes, how are you planning to send this document?

A quick google helped me to know “adhar” is some kind of national id. Anyway, good to know Bangladesh has voter’s id, but my spouse and in-laws are not from Bangladesh and do not have any voter id.

I do not know how to send pcc in advance. For us there is place to upload documents in online account which was not before asking the documents and pcc.

I think the kid does not count. In my case i am sponsoring my mother and i have a husband (not co-signer) and daughter. The number of people i entered is 2 (my mother and myself). Give that a try and hope this helps!

Your son is supposed to submit option C, not you (PA). So if you want to represent your son, you need to sign the Use of Representative form.

Otherwise, just ask your son (sponsor) to submit his option C as requested by IRCC.
Yes, you are correct. Actually my authorized me to send. What should I do now? Submit the authorization letter?

Not sure why you are the one sending the option C. Your son (Principal applicant) should be the one sending the Option C because he is the sponsor and it is his tax info in it. They are saying that since you sent a document in behalf of the Sponsor, you should submit a representative form. They don't have a file in hand that says you can send documents in behalf of the Sponsor.
Thanks for the reply. Now should I submit the authorization letter of my son? Advice me.

IRCC changes its rules for biometric https://www.cicnews.com/2023/06/all-permanent-residence-applicants-must-now-submit-biometrics-0635605.html. Seems like the 10 year validity was only during pandemic and as of June 14th they are returning to pre pandemic rule for biometric. Hope all of us are not part of this, otherwise this is going to be extra pain for many of us.
If you apply for permanent residence on or after June 14, 2023

You need to give your biometrics, even if you gave them in the last 10 years. As of June 14, 2023, we’re resuming biometrics collection for all permanent residence applicants.
