3 years is very little. Most wait for longer. If insurance costs are too expensive you should be aware that you will be responsible for even potentially larger costs as the guarantors and even if they are able to get WPs they could still have substantial costs. For example if your parents need to go into longterm care during the first 20 years after PGP approval you will be responsible for a monthly bed fee of 1-1.5k/month plus other personal expenses. Many things are also only partially covered or not covered at all under provincial healthcare. Canada doesn’t have full Medicare it is really partial Medicare. Given that they have been in Canada for 3 years and are only planning on returning for a short visit to their home country and they are close to retirement age getting a WP may be very difficult. There will be minimal proof that they will return home after their WP expires or ties to their home country. Do they have specialized knowledge and very good English or French language scores? Do they have a ba ground in one of the skills needed?
I think once they have OHIP it’s possible to purchase additional insurance though to cover for things like dental prescription vision and long term care etc. those types of insurance plans are really cost efficient and provide a lot more comprehensive coverage compared to the supervisa visitors insurance plans. They're designed for seniors. Thanks for your advice though!

Update on our application. We applied on early Nov 2022. Today we received an email from CIC citing that our application is not complete. It suggest that Use of Representative form IMM5476 is incomplete and is missing hand-written signature. They have given us to submit the form with a letter within 30 days via email.
Submitted IMM5476 (as an attachment) with hand-written signature today via email. As they requested, we also attached the missing document letter they sent and explanation letter as requested on the missing document letter. Will post if there is any progress.

Hello everyone,

I am confused regarding the family size that needs to be mentioned on Form 5768 for parents sponsorship.

Currently my family consist of 3 members ( Myself, wife and an infant). Myself and my wife both got the invitation to apply for for each of our parents.
Myself (Mom and Dad)
Wife (Mom and Dad).

We both are co-signing each others' applications, but really confused if the family size will be 7 or 5 on each application.

Please suggest.

Regards

In my case none of the submitted forms have hand written signatures/dates but was asked to send only use of representative form. We will be sending in few days time, will update on it.
This is exactly i was thinking thr only form which we hand sign is financial evaluation , and that too does not have to be hand sign if you can do electronic sig .

Originally when you submitted the doc did you put a electronic sign ? or did you miss the sign on that page ? Why so they need hand sign if they have mentioned in the guide that electronic sig is ok .

When we initially send the application none of the forms were filled, signed or dated with pen (print --> hand-written --> scan), as in the guide it is explicitly mentioned not to do so unless it is advised. We did everything electronically. When it is not possible to signed electronically (like typing name on the sections 8 and 16 of IMM5768 ), we used adobe reader's fill&sign feature to type the names of sponsor and co-signer respectively. As far as our understanding from reading several FAQs, guide on IRCC website no where it is asked to to hand-written stuff on any form.

Having said that, we received communication to resend the IMM5476 only, no other forms, with hand-written signature. However, recently someone post that s/he was asked to send other forms too, not only IMM5476. So it is kind of random and depends on the officer who is working on our application.

I used black, I do not know if there is color requirements. However, you need to print twice and scan twice (one each by sponsor/representative and pa+dependent) and the font that is supported by the pdf is thin and black only, we find blue lead fading fonts of the info that we fill and completely fades the date we filled electronically.

Sorry i am little confused , Why do we need to submit 2 Rep form ? last time when i submitted with electronic sig i submitted only one , I put my E-signature on page 2 and then My mom and Dad's signature ( Electronic) on last page , I thought we need to submit only one form .
