Hello,

I am am Indian and a permanent resident here in Calgary and i want to call my parents on visitors visa. But there is a spelling mistake on my Fathers name on my passport. Its Pradip on my passport and Pradeep on his passport.

1. Will there be any issue if i still apply for visitors visa? Can it get denied?
2. What is the complete Name correction process here in Canada? I have no idea.

Please help. Thank you

What it says on your birth certificate?. I think it should not be a problem. if you have it there as his passport. if not, A simple notary from Lawyer that both name are same person and you should be fine.

You need to wait until they open the Interest to Sponsor form. From what I understand, the draw that will take place this month is for those who have already submitted an interest to sponsor in 2020.

You will not be able to sponsor your parents this year. For this year, IRCC will only invite the people who have submitted the interest form last year, in 2020. Details about this change can be found here:

If you apply but don’t end up being invited, we won’t refund the sponsorship application processing fee.

This year, we’ll accept applications from those who are invited through an online process. We’ll add more information on how it works in the coming weeks.
