Hello, I received a letter of FINANCIAL ASSESSMENT for Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) eligibility for my parents' sponsorship along with the BIOMETRICS letter, and looking for your suggestions:

Based on the letter, I did not meet the MNI for 2018. I am the only sponsor (No co-signer) and they have calculated 4 persons as my family size for 2018, 2019, 2020: That would include Me, My wife, my father, and my mother.

I got married in August 2019, hence my family size for 2018 should be 3 instead of 4 as I was not married. Based on a family size of 3 persons for 2018, I do meet the MNI criteria, but the letter has calculated a family size of 4 for 2018.

I had already explained in the letter of explanation during the file submission. Could you please guide me on what should I have to do next? Whether am I calculating the right family size or not! Here is the use case scenario example #2 of Juan and Lise on the CIC website: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1460&top=14.
Hi so sorry to hear that. Based on your statement I do agree that CIC made a mistake, you should only be calculated as 3 on 2018 since you got married in 2019. Did you click CONTINUE with application if sponsor is ineligible hence they sent you Biometrics request together with refusal? Was it mentioned in the letter that you can appeal? Did you receive these letters on email or thru Gckey? Thank you

Thank you Jel for your comment!
Yes I did check mark to continue with the application and that's the reason I received the Biometrics.
Yes, the letter mentioned that " Instructions regarding the Right to Appeal will be issued as applicable by the visa office. Please note that the Right to Appeal may only be exercised after the visa officer has rendered a final decision." Now, do I have to wait for decision and proceed with the Biometrics?

On email, which ultimately found from spam. For everyone, please keep checking your spam with keywords. Otherwise, you may miss the requests from CIC.

What should I have to do next?

In my case, since I am single and I sponsor my parents, the family size that I initially assumed was 3. But later, my immigration representative told me for 2018, it would be 4, not 3 because my younger brother was under 22 age in 2018 and was dependent on my parents. So the IRCC will include him in that year, 2018 for the size calculation. In 2019 he was not considered dependent as he was over 22 after his birthday that year. So for 2019, and 2020 I was right in calculating family size 3 but it was 4 in 2018. To me, it doesn't matter as I already have income for that family size in 2018 also but I did assume the family size calculation wrong. So if there is not something like this, you may miss in the calculation, then definitely there is a mistake on the IRCC part.

@parmar01 Thanks! Yes kind of similar scenario, but opposite calculation as I was not married in 2018, hence I calculated family size of 3 for 2018 and I am meeting the minimum income requirement based on family size 3 in 2018, for I have explained in letter whlie submission. Not sure ,why IRCC generated ineligibility for year 2018! If it's their mistake, I am looking for what to do next in order to clarify with IRCC.

If you still meet the minimum income requirements for 4 in 2018 then I agree with you, it does not matter. However, if you don't meet the minimum income requirement for 4 in 2018 and meet for 3 in 2019 and 2020 then it does matter cause that means you applied a year too early...

Did any of your parents have any dependant in 2018? Step kids etc? Have you sponsored anyone prior to this?

Hello,

I have question regarding PCC. I got PCC through District police station and the letter is from office of Sr. Supdt. of Police. I did not get it through passport office. This letter does not have photo of my parents on it. Did anyone submit PCC without photo on it?
Can anyone confirm if PCC without photo is valid?

I got blessed with a bay girl last month. Any impact this could have on the application? Waiting on her Birth Certificate to update CIC.

Hi all, I received the sponsor approval letter in March (in mail), followed by PCC, Medicals and Biometrics which the PA submitted.

1. The sponsor approval letter asked to provide documents that I had already submitted as part of the original application - do I need to submit these documents again?

2. What should I expect from IRCC as the next step? We've already submitted everything.

3. The sponsor approval letter was received in my mail, however wondering why was it mailed to rather than emailed?! I did provide my email address while submitting my original application. Is there any way I can notify the IRCC that they should send important communication to me via email, instead of mail? Just worried that I might miss any further requests for me (sponsor).

Hi, I got the PPR (Passport request) for my parents. I was worried earlier when the processing time jumps to 34 months but IRCC really surprised me this time. My timeline is as follows:

Application submitted: 13 Oct 2021
Ghost email update: Jan 05, 2022
File linked to IRCC: Jan 10, 2022 (File number and biometrics information was already there)
Document request ( prove the relationship between sponsor and principal applicant): Jan 22, 2022
AOR, Sponsor approval: Never received any till now
Medical update: Mar 02, 2022 (passed, previous medical from super visa was used)
PCC, document request (prove the relationship between the principal applicant and my mother): May 17, 2022 (although the marriage certificate was submitted earlier, they request, Aadhar & Voter id card too)
Background Check started: July 06, 2022
PPR : July 07, 2022

My parents are from India. IRCC is processing the applications fastly now and I think the super visa application of my parents did really help a lot this time as no biometrics, no medical was asked. The further background check was already done, so it doesn't take long this time, I guess.

I would wish everyone to get their results sooner.
Congrats. Where is the processing office?

WHAT IS CASE AGENT AND HOW DO YOU SEE IT ?
I think they have removed a lot of information from F12 option. now you cant see the agent info

Earlier you could click on F12 when in portal and under 'cases?' you were able to see the status , assigned case agent's email address and when was the last your documents were reviewed.

Mine shows status 7 which means application is not even touched by the agent ..

Hi all, I have sponsored my parents and received AOR last week. however, my situation has changed; my baby has arrived on 2 month ago. How should I let IRCC know about this so my application won't get delayed?

My parents do not have any dependent. Yes, I sponsored my wife after getting married, in the year of 2019. Hence, I was single in the year of 2018.
