Yes, it shows only the people who got invited.I don't understand, it does not show my confirmation number in the cic table, does it only show the people who got invited?
Thanks everyone for supportDont be so disheartened. Stay positive. You will succeed.
I have a similar case where my mom shows with some married last name in my birth certificate that she never used anymore (she got divorced shortly after) and she never used it on her official documents so I added that last name in a section where they ask if the applicant has used another name before. Maybe you can do the same.1. My dad's first name on my birth certificate is spelled slightly differently than it is now on my passport - he changed it later e.g. instead of Jupiter, it was earlier Joopetar. What can I do in this case? I don't think he has his old passport with that name.
2. Don't have my parent's marriage certificate, but my dad's name is on my mom's passport under 'Husband's name' - is that acceptable?
I tried finding it online but unfortunately couldn't find it - will be grateful if someone has any answers on these.
Thank you!
@scylla - please if you can guide - as always
Hi. @canada.msn @YVR123 I did not see the requirement of a marriage certificate of the parents mentioned anywhere in the list of documents. Can you please specify where it is asked for in the form. Some countries allow extraction of marriage registration in the past. That may be one option. Not sure where your parents got married. So not sure if that's possible.
If a country, a government favored by the people, should have principles for the people, it is necessary to have a reasonable order. The previous methods, albeit flawed, had a somewhat sense of order. We reject this chaotic lottery method. This is a game, our parents are people, not objects to play, hurt our feelings, indefinitely delay or prevent our family reunion! Since the government wants to give some people a chance to play the lottery, why not give other people other options, for those who don't want to play this game? For example, waiting in line, or paying more to reduce the burden on the government, why not?Well, from my experience back when lottery system first introduced in 2016 or 2017, they will never read the requirement or they will read it and disregard it anyway. Every time they draw, there will be people not meeting the LICO got the invitation (happen every year on this forum)
My only hope is that they will keep drawing from the current pool without accepting new application into the pool for the next lottery rounds (just similar to this one) until they take all the application left in the pool. Only then they can re-open to accept new application for new lottery rounds. I think that the fairest approach for everyone currently in the pool and waiting for their chance (including me) - This is just my opinion if government intend to keep the lottery system forever (waiting since 2017 for my chance to apply )

Honest question…what is the legal fight? The government could just disband the program tomorrow. It doesn’t need to offer the program. It is not written in federal legislation as a right to bring your parents and grandparents.Permission to post if allowed
Hi all, I know we all have been trying since long and we all are frustrated because of the system. Could you please pm me your
- for how long you are PR or citizen
- for how many years are you trying ?
Helping Crish Malabar (fb account) for the info, so he can start the legal fight.
Thank you!
Edit** - I’ll be creating an excel sheet for this and will post the link. Please stay tuned!!
Honestly, I dont think they care. I just wrote an email to the immigration minister asked him politely to consider other options. I dont think he's gonna read it either. I just did it to make me feel like a bit of relief. I sent him an email last year too when I was not selected. I hate the feeling being hopeless and not doing anything. If a country, a government favored by the people, should have principles for the people, it is necessary to have a reasonable order. We refuse to play games, refuse to play with our parents who are older year by year...
Our parents have been in the lottery for 7 years! We really don’t understand why this lousy lottery is playing the destiny of our family! Time after time, loss and emotional hurt, why is it so difficult for our family to reunite? Isn't 7 years enough? This is not fair!
If the government sincerely cares about each of our families, please stop playing games! Please take the future of each family seriously. This is also our country’s reputation! Freedom, fairness and reasonableness, giving us a correct way and more choices, it isn't to force every family to participate in this gambling game and let a stupid game decide our lives! Where are our freedoms, our rights? We refuse to play, this is our life and family....because a country and it's government should be responsible and do what's right for it's people, rather than gamble with family's lives, with lottery games that determine the outcome!
Who of you are in the same boat and feel the same way we do? We need to get together and let the government hear our family voice, if they really care about family!
One of the reasons why the government switched to the lottery system from FIFO (first in, first out) was because people were screaming that the FIFO process was so unfair and a complete disaster. In fact, there was a huge petition started by people on this very forum specifically asking to switch to a lottery system and that petition was sent to the government. So technically the government / IRCC did in fact listen to the public when they introduced the lottery. Many people on this forum wanted this and asked for it.If a country, a government favored by the people, should have principles for the people, it is necessary to have a reasonable order.
