Your parents do not have to live in Canada. Actually most PGP applicants do not live in Canada. What is RO by the way? Our parent is not living in Canada.
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1461&top=14Yes, I understand yours situation is tricky. IRCC has not cleared regarding from when you can count your spouse as family members/co-signer. Is it for all three previous income years, even though you were not partner in at least one of those years?
They have example for new born but not for spousal. That is the main reason, I suggested you to apply and take a chance. You are a lucky one among many of us, so its best to take a chance when the outcome is the possibility to get united with your parents. Best of luck though.
https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1461&top=14 - this makes me eligible , so co-signer will work for meNo you do not meet the income requirements and you should not have applied. You took a chance away from someone that actually is eligible.
People like this should be fined for not READING THE RULES before applying.
Mine 51, no good news yet.Anyone with 61 series who has received invitation? Please if you could confirm
1. Yes, it sounds like she meets the definition of a type C dependent. You will of course need to submit documents (e.g. doctor's letters) to prove her condition.Hello everyone,
I received the invitation to sponsor my parents last Friday. Congratulations to everyone who have also received it and best wishes to those who are awaiting that email, which ends this agonizing wait game
In my application, my father is the principal applicant. I have one sister who is 50 years old. She has a medical condition since birth - Microcephaly (https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/microcephaly). In simple words, she is physically and financially dependant on my parents - Her mental age is of a 6-year-old. I have no other siblings. According to the definition of "Dependent children":
Children 22 years old or older qualify as dependants only if they meet both of these requirements:
My sister seems to meet both of these above conditions (Type C Dependant). Further, she does not need any medical aid or help for her day-to-day activity.
- they have depended on their parents for financial support since before the age of 22
- they are unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition
I have two queries:
I would really really appreciate it if someone can guide me on this matter. It's a living saving situation for my family.
- Does she qualify as a dependent child? Has anyone been in a similar situation?
- During the time of submitting my Interest to Sponsor last October, I did not mention my sister's name. Only my father's and mother's details were provided. At that time I didn't know that she might qualify as a dependent child. Can I include her name as the dependent child at this stage now without jeopardizing the entire application process?
Thank you!

Another case of short income, as expected people realize it after they ruin a spot for someone who is eligible very frustrating and unfortunate.Hi ,
i received invitation for my parents yesterday and have few questions hoping to get some help
any thoughts help is much appreciated
- income requirements - 2020 and 2019 is okay but 2018 i am sort 1500$ so wondering if still okay or not?
- i was single in 2018 so i should check for 3 person i guess , so co -sign won't help for 2018 i believe ??
- also was student earlier 2018 part so not sure that makes a difference ?
It is not compulsory.Hello Friends,
Is it compulsory to use a co-signer even if i personally meet the financial requirement? I am asking because my spouse moved to Canada to join me in dec. 2018, so she do not have 3 years of taxation in Canada, she worked in 2019, 2020 and now 2021. 2021 tax filing will be next year. So can i just leave out the co-signer part for most of the forms.
i am eligible so not unfortunate , probably you just read that question. i was not aware about co -signer now i am so all good on my endAnother case of short income, as expected people realize it after they ruin a spot for someone who is eligible very frustrating and unfortunate.
