Yes, we both got re-medical on the same day. My mom is in Canada so I guess we should receive a call from IRCC and confirm the parents are in Canada and they can confirm virtual landing. If now CPC M starts taking action.

Yes

Hope for the best

Please update the tracker line 393, received DM2 on ecas, not sure how will be the battle with CPC M now. IRCC call center is not telling anything for cases being processed at NDVO.
decision made for both is a good sign.

Anyone here who had expired COPR last year that was extended or given a new COPR this year?

Hi Everyone.

I just received a request for PCC for my parents. They have a PCC from India from January 2020, I am wondering if it would be still valid as it has no expiry and they have not visited India since then or should I apply for a new one? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you !

Hopefully this answers your question!
Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate. You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. (For example, if you lived in a country for eight months but left on a two-week vacation, that counts as living there for eight months.)

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

This is really good to know. Thank you so much for writing all these down.
Our application is not there yet so I never give it a thought or looked into these. But $1200 was quite a surprise to be honest.

The parents have pensions in their country too so we should be able to manage the expenses.

Yes I wish the government was much more upfront about potential expenses especially those you often encounter in old age. There are many things that are not covered or partially covered from hearing aids, dental care, glasses, walkers, wheelchairs, hospital beds at home, incontinence products, longterm care fee (still heavily subsidized), etc. Giving that LICO is so low many families wouldn’t be able to afford many of these things.

Quick question - my mom just received her medical exam notice. I assume her application is on the right track. She’s in Canada but her passport is expired. And the consulate has paused all passport services since pandemic. What should I do if CIC asks for her passport? Thank you!!
