My return tracker # was activated today; copy of my mom's passport delivered to Ottawa on November 12. It seems it's faster than three weeks nowadays.
Mine took exactly 2 weeks from Ottawa receiving it to getting it back, so they do seem to have reduced the turn around time.

Assessing sponsor eligibility is assessing income over the past three years based on NOA. That's pretty quick to check unless they would like to verify if you have ever received social assistance. In that case, the processing time will be longer.

I have OSAP and not sure if that counts as social assistance.

I am thinking maybe it is because I did not provide consent to IRCC, instead, I provided copies of my NOA, which may cause delay. But another friend on this forum told me it won't take longer if we provided copies of NOA.

You have to notify IRCC. Send a webform. If you will not do that can cause delay. Like what happened to me even I notify the IRCC that my father went back home because of the biometrics cause now a problem and delay supposedly my father already have the COPR if he is here because they’re (CiC Mississauga) requesting his passport last October 16. Notified IRCC that my father is in the Philippines via webform twice last August 15 and also 4-5times since passport request. Now I’m stuck and till now no clear answer from agents. Just telling me that they forwarded it to the responsible office.

Hi rhonaleen, just an idea, since your father has supervisa, what if you just let him travel back to canada now and submit his passports to cic mississauga as soon as he gets here. Then go to the border for the landing. Not sure if this works or might make it more complicated though, it's your call. :)

I have a question to people from AB who already got their DM (approved as a sponsor). Do you previously sponsor (or co-sponsor) anyone? Is it anyone (from AB) here who was previously a co-sponsor, and now got DM to sponsor their parents?

I know what you mean. I am actually thinking of that too but the problem is what if the visa officer got my 4-5 webform requests lol then he’s already working on it and forwarded it to Philippines. I don’t know if that’s the process though but yeah, what if. Lol. It is crazy!! Stupid biometrics messed this all up!
Maybe I have to wait for couple of weeks and if I call the IRCC and no proper information I might seek MPs help. Thank you tho!

Mee!

I am May 15 and also got stuck for a very long time with no further notice. I believe it’s just that we mid May applicants are not so lucky compared to others. All we can do is wait cuz it’s CIC, the biggest non transparent organization in Canada.

if after one month there’s still no update I’ll call my MP cuz it’s ridiculous.
hey guys,

I wanted to know my app is been stuck in process for almost 3 months now.

I just wanted to know we live in a government townhouse do u guys think that could create an issue?
