Those having parents in Canada, how are you planning to complete landing formalities once your parents recieve their visas and COPR documents?

@guyfromtoronto quick question

Where are your in-laws submitting their passports?

Did you request a transfer from CIC-M to NVDO for visa stamping ?
OR
Are there here on visitor / super visa?
OR
They are going to mail their passports ? - Technically India does not allow passports to be mailed out of country
OR
Are you going there to physically collect their passports and then bring them back for stamping here in CIC-M? Technically India does not allow passports to be carried by third party out of country as well.

Am I missing any other options?

Check the tracker and give your impressions...:)
Still think document submission has a bit more relation to DMs. @Chinkoo has medical passed on August 23rd and got DM and there are lots of people with medical passed from early august still waiting. And a little obvious thing, if you submit documents right after they requested or 2 weeks after they requested, it will definitely be impacting the further timeline. Right?

And again there is so much randomness in CIC processing.

I think at this point it becomes officer specific...that would explain some of the randomness

Technically per your argument, as I submitted the requested docs same day Sept 27th (and have IRCC confirmation that they have been received by phone) I should be getting PA DM soon, but based on the IME passed assumption it may take till end of Nov. Also my case has been slower than average anyways...

I feel a security check stage that takes appx 45 - 60 days is initiated when IME is cleared...

Yeah if we go with the additional document submission, you should get DM before me and I should start jumping when I see you getting something. If they go with medical passed, then I should receive it before you, LOL

Anyways what will happen, can't be predicted for sure. So good luck buddy! Hoping the best for all :)

Race? LOLZ

BTW what's your take on #27019?

What about Goods/Funds accompanying and to Follow?

Are they doing a sift landing OR moving permanently...

Soft Landing = just for PR (Goods / Funds to follow at a later date). I believe you list / declare the goods funds that will follow at a later date

see this post

I also think there is another thread on this topic; perhaps more relevant to post this there

I think it also depends on Security/Background checks. This stage is likely to take longer for the parents who have travelled/lived abroad a lot or have government/military service background. Every case is different.

LOL, yes. Life is a race, you know! Haha

If parents are in India and LVO is Mississauga then a request to submit passports at Vfs in india or NVDO should be made.

If they are here on visitor / super visa, then the passport should be submitted as per letter (to Ottawa I guess) and then landing done by exiting US border/ inland interview appointment should be booked.

And you cannot mail passports across borders as you said and you wont have to travel to India to get their passports either.

Yes that's correct too.

That's what I thought; my parents are in India so request to submit passports at Vfs in india or NVDO would be the logical option.
That said, I do travel to India at least once every two months, so if timing works, I could being their passports...

Sending a webform enquiry to submit passports at Indian VFS is not a tough option. Lots of people do that.

I have no previous experience of hearing anybody bringing passports to Canada to get stamped. Most probably should not be anything wrong with it, unless customs stop you for checking your bags for some reason and find 2 extra passports in your bag (truly belonging to your parents and their COPR letter has good reasons), may be they hold you for security check for long.

So go with changing the Visa office, it will ALLLL work out perfect :)

@robertp
My father did biometric in US on 25th October, mycic still says ur action required and old biometric date is showing against his records.mother did on 15th from PK and results showing for her on MYCIC.

Should i wait for few days and then contact local visa office where my parents application is right now for update?

My biometric submission date will expire on 6th nov, so i am worried, not sure what to do.

I remember i read many people had this issue doing biometric in US and not getting any update in MYCIC, but what happened in their cases did cic got biometric in their cases and didnt update MYcic?
Any suggestions??
