In mycic account i see that biometrics is done and valid for my parents from the time they did it for supervisa, is it true or do they need to do another one for PR app ?

Hi,

My PGP application was received by Ottawa on June 3, 2019 and I haven't heard anything from CIC yet. My parents want to come to Canada to visit me in a few months. I'm wondering if they can do the biometric/health check etc. here in Canada if the requests happen to arrive while they are here. Your reply will be appreciated. Thank you.

They can do the medicals here in Canada, but not the biometrics. For biometrics, they can go to USA (if they have visa or can get one).
If they can postpone their visit for sometime, then its better to get bio done back home and then come here.

@YULIA-2016 @robertp

Please correct line 225

SA Decision Made is 9/6
Medical Request for mom received today 9/10

Question: My mom extended her stay until July of this year, so she had her medicals done last February 2019, can we use/submit this medical report instead of redoing the medical tests?

What is the best approach to do this? Upload in her CIC account or send via webform?

Thank you!

Wow that took 90 days to get a decision??? I can't understand why is takes some people so long and other get a decision right away. Congratulations

Excatly my point. I understand that the whole process takes 24 months and they have 20k + apps to look after . What shocks me is that if everything is going slowly and smoothly for eveyone its understandable but most cases gets through in process to dm in couple days whereas theres few people have to wait for months to get dm. I can't seem to understand the logic behind this. And it's actually really very worrisome for the people that goes through it

In addition, my mom's passport will be expired in Mar 2020 and she is here in Canada. Can I renew her passport in Canada before going back home? Has anybody done this before? Will this make her authorized stay stamp in the old passport invalid?
According to my understanding if you have a new passport then consulate will invalidate the old passport which mean everything related to old passport is invalid including travels and visas because Visas are one to one documents means that they are only valid to the document they are issued to (I do not have knowledge if there is exception to this). I do not suggest to get into passport change unless absolutely important. Remember any change in travel document still needs to be submitted to CIC for PGP which means one more step towards your application.
