Oh that's too sad to hear...so that means, we're way, way down the queue. I guess it pays to have been so meticulous with the forms, rather than target to send the application asap. Lesson learned--the hard way.
I wish we all can get processing as fast as possible, the wait is enduring, I don't know if any officer read this but anytime they put some app on delay, they should know that someone gonna be very sad and will be nervous everyday checking the status, we are all want to reunite with our family, Canadians do not know that as they take it for granted

Hi All,
can anyone please tell how link the application in GCaccount. With my sponsor information or principal applicant's details.
Thanks in advance

Yes I hear you very much! Application was send on Apr 30, can't check any status and is on the edge. At least an AOR would be amazing. There are many applicants in the tracker with additional document request and ECAS showing at least application is received. My additional document IMM5660 was send on Jun 24 so i guess my application will be only considered since then. Anyways good luck to everyone and congrats to all who have completed the various hurdles successfully!!!!

It is case by case basis, 20-24 months is average so of course there are people way faster than that and there are people who are way later, some 2016, 2017 applicants are still not yet finished yet some 2018 was processed in 4 months. It is all depends on the mercy of the case officer who does not know the emotional impacts on their decision to process someone fast while delay some other. It is a matter of luck any way, some people submitted on 26 Apr but till now still in Application received status only while 8 May people already got medical request is just an example.

It just mean the application is Incomplete and you need to wait for a letter to explain why it is so, maybe they send a snail mail since you did not put in your email. Or if you linked the account on myCIC the letter will be posted there

Something similar happened to me. I also provided my e-mail and can see my application in myCIC but the officer decided to send me a letter through Canada Post (I am still waiting, it was sent July 17).

It could be the immigration officer discretion to decide how they communicate with us??

Good luck!

Hey BDIDIOL,

You seem to know the process pretty well. Can you tell me:
1. If the AOR is received by the sponsor or the principal applicant? Is it via email/ via post?
2. Is the SA received by the sponsor or the principal applicant? via email/ via post?
3. Is the request for additional documentation sent to the principal applicant or the sponsor? Is it via email/ post?

I am a May 17th applicant but I am worried that if they mail the AOR via post to my parents, they may not receive it.

Thanks to anyone who has more details!

It takes 12 months to sponsor a spouse so you shouldn’t be checking daily to see you have been approved after submitting your applications 1-3 months ago. The process takes time, involves numerous agencies and the participation of foreign governments. The visa officers aren’t sitting at their desks strategizing whose file to delay just for fun.
