That's just a waste of time, energy and a lot of money! My understanding was that if my parents are here in Canada they would not require to do biometrics. Now we are gonna have to go to another country to do that. (US is not an option for us because of the travel ban against my home country)

Any suggestion on where the closest and cheapest VAC is?

I don't think there is any fee , I think Mexico will be closest to you

Death Certificate of dad and Notice of Assessment for tax years 2016/2017/2018 were requested. Faxed them today.

It is clear now , they are working on April 30th and May 1st file , clean files for these dates can expect a decision in coming week

many of us are in the same boat, this policy is so redudant and very ruthless

I wish we can contact CIC after getting the request and see if we can be exempted. Not sure if there will be a response back or not. IRCC should have opened VAC’s in Canada before starting the process of biometrics.

it is better to go to Mexico , my friend has 10 year US visa but got turn away from US border with no reasons
