People need to remember there are processing times. People are calling in to make sure the receiving signature is correct, calling in a week later when they haven’t received any news, etc. Give it at least a month. People paid for tracking and signatures for a reason. CIC call center is there to answer questions not to assure people that their packages have been received and are in the cue for processing. People even have access to ECAS and are still calling.

hi all, i have a question on PGP2019, if the sponsor is unemployed but the cosigner is employed and meeting income requirements, is this fine or does the sponsor need to be employed for the application to be eligible?

As long as your family income meet the requirements, its not an issue.

What’s with the insults?...silence is golden. If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. Replying just to insult someone is taking up space and adding to other repetitive posts, that push back important posts which causes them to be missed, also making people read excessively to see what’s new. Geez. Be nice people, costs nothing!

For all those trying to link the application on GCKey:

Use this approach, it does not require any additional information from CIC. You just need the information that you already filled in the forms (I was able to find mine today using this approach). If your file is in the system you will be able to find it.

Select Category: Permanent Residence
Select Sub-Category: Family Class (Parent and grandparent)

For Application Detail Select: Family Name, Given Name and Date of Birth
Note: You need to put principal applicant's details here

For Applicant's Personal Details Select: Place of Birth
Note: You need to put principal applicant's details here

For Other Application Information:

Where does the applicant intend to live in Canada?
Note: You need to put principal applicant's details here

Number of family members, including the primary applicant, that are part of this application

For number of family members, the calculation is
your parents + you (sponsor) + co signer (if applicable), ignore kids in this count
e.g if you are sponsoring both parents and have a co-signer, the calculation is 2+1+1 = 4

Note:
Make sure the information is exactly the same as what you filled on forms, use scan copy of the forms you sent, if you have one. Form IMM 0008 has all the information that is required.

If you can't find your application using this information, your file is not in the system yet. You will have to wait, getting a temporary file number or anything else can't help you. Be patient, wait a couple of days and then try again

GOOD LUCK!! linking your application.

Hi all,
If one can link his or his application online, still they should expect AOR email or they will not send email after linking..????
Anyone who recieve email after linking application ...

no the sponsor can be unemployed and earn nothing as long as the COMBINED income of the sponsor and cosignor meets the requirements.
So don't be worried to write "unemployed" under the employment history with $0 as income
thanks nayr69sg

Very valid question, but if I may ask, why worried abt AOR email ?

I mean myCIC = real time updates & linking application = generally a reflection that one is savvy and is keeping a close eye on the process.
I understood that there is a notification (via email) every time there is an update in myCIC. No?
