Hey All,

I called and received my temporary application number. Tried to use this to check application status online and it does not work.

Has anyone had luck checking app status with temporary application number from CIC call centre?

Sorry to hear about the loss!

I will suggest you to write an explanation letter and explain the whole situation in it. Mention that you birth certificate only has your father's name, but to prove your relationship with your mother, you can provide copy of your passport and education documents which carry the name of your mother. Also mention about your father's death in the letter, provide date and place of death.

Make sure your put your Name, UCI, and the DOB in the letter and sign it. After printing and signing, put this letter right after the first document (ITA Letter provided by IRCC).

You are still required to provide a certified translation of your birth certificate.

Imm 1344 and imm 0008 show new dates of 6-2019 at the bottom of forms. Just got back signed forms from parents and plan to mail on Monday. Do I need to update the forms? Not easy to courier back and forth again.

The change is minor and is related to box 3 (sex - M/F/other. Given that they changed this form mid-way I wouldn't worry. Many applications were in CIC’s system (refer post 7747 pg 517) long before this form was updated.

You are sponsoring both parents. Your father must be included in your family number. He also must complete the medical. You can list him as non-accompanying if he doesn’t want to come. Your mother can sponsor him if he wants to come later.

Yes I included that , does that mean I need to fill his info for all the forms that I filled for my mom (principal applicant) including generic imm0008 for him aswel. Does that mean I need IMM1344e filled for both my mom and dad ? . I am really worried.

Yes according to the instructions you do need to fill all info for your father as well even if he is non accompanying

The rationale is that if one spouse becomes PR then he or she can sponsor the other spouse for PR. So IRCC wants to approve PR for both at the beginning. Also issues with whether one spouse might have medical needs that are excessive. They dont want a situation where they gave the wife PR and then didnt know the husband had kidney failure requiring dialysis but now have to let the husband have PR.

By this speed yours should be updated soon too. Though I wonder if all the people who had their application delivered before mine have had their ecas status updated.

My timeline is in the tracking sheet.

If you are unable to view through either of them, then it has not been inserted in the ecas system. Just wait for now.

I couldnt see anyhing as of yesterday - then all of a sudden it showed up today.

I can now access trough my UCI where it shows persons sponsored as well as through my dads UCI (principal applicant).
