It clearly mentions no need to give biometrics:
Note: There is a temporary public policy exemption for in-Canada applicants. More specifically, foreign nationals who are eligible to apply from within Canada would normally provide their biometrics as part of an application or request for

  • a temporary resident visa (TRV)
  • a work permit or study permit
  • a temporary resident permit
  • permanent residence
However, since there is currently no biometric service delivery network within Canada, these applicants are exempt from the biometrics requirement until such time as the public policy is lifted. Applicants who apply from within Canada, but whose applications are not eligible to be processed from within Canada, are not covered under this public policy exemption. Those applicants are required to leave Canada in order to submit their biometrics as part of their application.
Found one more:
If you are applying as a member of the family class and are legally in Canada when you apply, you are currently exempt from giving biometrics. Your accompanying overseas dependents may need to give their biometrics.

so two different agents and two different methods. Back to confusion!
How can we send unvalidated form, when the guide and letter clearly says validated and hand sign it.
Well the user guide mentions that in this case you can just put * for any unknow part of the date. In my case it will be *-*-*. Also, it says that we won't be able to validate it.
My suggestion would be to have a letter of explanation where you refer to the reason for not being able to validate the form. Also, quote the exact lines from the application user guide.
The following are the lines I am quoting from the guide:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...application-sponsor-parents-grandparents.html

"Personal details

Note: If you do not know the complete date of birth or if the date is in the 1800s, please use a “*” (star sign/asterisk) to fill in the spaces for the unknown year, month or day. The missing information can be added by hand however the form cannot be validated."

Not validating this particular form will be fine as on clicking on validation there is no bar code getting generated. Hence, we should be fine. :-)

Me and my spouse have been married for a year, and we are both signing the sponsorship of my parents, Do they accept our 2 revenues for the past 3 years even if we have been together only for a year ?

Question:

They are asking for marriage certificate for my parents, i have a 5 year old certificate, is it ok ? or should i provide a new one ?

hi there what if my PR card got expired but it was valid at the time of submitting interest to sponsor form in January. Do they accept the expired PR card?

Hi there,

Looking at the guide (in bold below) the IMM 0008 Dep form must be completed, I cannot find the exclusion "not included in the generic application....."

I am wondering if you just need to put NONE in the name box and sign it so they have the document included.

The following forms are to be completed, signed and submitted by the Principal Applicant:

If applicable the following:

I am going to do the same. thanks

No, it's not 20 days. It could be lesser or it could be more.
Here's why - When you submit an application very early within the 60-day deadline, officers have time to review it and send you AOR within days or few weeks (rarely months) since fewer applications are being received for the first week or two. But when the deadline approaches, more and more applications are received... it could be thousands within a day. So the bulk receipt of applications at this later stage slows down the review process. If you have submitted your application closer to the deadline, most of the time AORs are received after a few months - approx 2 months at a minimum and up to 4-6 months.

That's why people who know this trend rushed to submit their applications, just because it speeds up the process. Your parents can receive PR within 5 mos - 8 months of processing. This is taking into account that Medicals, PCCs, etc are submitted on time and that there are no other delays whatsoever.

I am with you on this logic! This was one of the reasons we had started working on the forms and gathering all documents the day the forms were updated (I believe early Feb)...

so... if parents needs to go back home/go to US/ biometrics is introduced inside Canada/whatever, and do biometrics the fee is already paid and you just have to follow suit instead of now fumbling around with officer asking you to pay for the fee yada yada...

@RockerMe - I say pay for it and if it turns out they don't need it, ask for a refund or eat it..

it's $85: if sponsors can't afford $85 they probably shouldn't be promising the government to be responsible for anyone for the next 20 years imo[/USER]

Any help ?

Question on the Given name in the IMM 5669 Background declaration Form:

My mother given name is only mentioned and the surname is not mentioned in her passport. So I always give this name as Surname in forms and leave given name as blank.

But in IMM 5669 form if I leave Given name as a blank I am unable to validate.
Any suggestions what should be entered here? Has anyone entered NA for the given name in 5669 background declaration form

It's bit harsh. But yeah. You are right!!
Sorry, it wasn't my intention to be mean or anything, just being real.
This is a HUGE financial commitment and (some) people are trying to cut corners. The guide clearly tells you to pay the fee.. pay the fee.

If people feel like $85 is going to make a difference in their budget they should really think twice before jumping into a 20 years commitment with the government. It ruins it for everybody else if parents turn out needing to apply for income assistance.
