Hi all. We applied for PGP and got the invitation. I have a quick question and sorry if it has been asked before. I just joined the thread. In the forms/doc checklist, they are asking for date of birth certificate for parents and we dont have DOB certificate for either of my parents. What can be done or what supporting document can be attached. Please suggest.
TIA

In imm1344e form, it asks about Status in Canada and then UCI/Client ID
I became citizen and the citizen card has a Certificate Number. The Client ID is there on my PR card before I became a citizen
What do I fill here, the certificate number (from Citizenship card) or the Client ID (from the PR)

Can you request a birth certificate now? It may be issued now and so long as it shows your country of birth and date of birth is OK.

You only need their birth certificates if you are sponsoring your GRAND parents and parents to show they are related to each other. If you are not sponsoring your GRAND parents, you do not need parents birth certificated.

We tried. The MC officials just gave a NOC stating that no birth records found.

The checklist is clear:

- If you're sponsoring your parent(s), you need to provide YOUR (sponsor) birth certificate
- If you're sponsoring your grandparent(s), you need to provide YOUR (sponsor) birth certificate AND your MOTHER's or FATHER's birth certificate (whichever you need as proof that your grandparent is your grandparent)

Let me go thru the checklist again. Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Still, If i am not able to find the exact clause, it would be of great help, if you can post a screen shot of the same here. Thanks again.

Seniors please advise regarding my brother does he fall into dependent clause. He is 36 year old, unmarried, has remained unemployed or employed at one-third salary of what normal people get, though he has done Bsc at the age of 31 year, he needs our help in decision making, he got admission in Canadian college but was refused visa. His marriage proposal is turned down as not earning or earning meager and incomplete education. Please seniors and any one with experience in such case. Further if my parents get migration he is left alone back home home, he can not be left alone because he needs advise on many matters. He falls into asperger syndrome or high functioning autism. Or asd autism spectrum disorder. Highly appreciate your input. Thanks

No - your brother is not a dependent. If he wishes to immigrate to Canada he will need to qualify on his own through an economic immigration stream like Express Entry. If he cannot live alone and there are no other family members to support him then migrating to Canada may not be the right choice for your parents.

For argument's sake, the Dependent guideline says:

Children 22 years old or older (also known as an overage dependent children) qualify as dependants if they meet both of these requirements:
  • they have depended on their parents for financial support since before the age of 22, and
  • they are unable to financially support themselves because of a mental or physical condition.

They can prove the mental condition by providing some Medical documents. The financial part is easy to prove.

yes, they do......Please follow following link for more details. I hope this helps

What do you mean by surname?
Your surname is your family name. It is also called your “last name.” When filling out applications, type your surname as it appears on your passport, travel or identity document.

Do not use initials.

If you do not have a family name on your passport, travel or identity document, enter all your given name(s) in the surname field and leave the given name field blank. Do not enter “Not applicable,” “*” or “NA.”

Form 5669, does not allow to leave even given name blank. Rest of the forms are fine.
In thia case, I used not applicable in given name and provided an explanation letter.
