Invitation email received : April 25, 2019 ; 9.40 am EST

I have one question for clarification:
IMM 5768 - Financial Evaluation for P/GP sponsorship: Need help in completing this form:
Pg#3, Q # 13
Your current situation - Unemployed, Employed or Semi-employed: Which box to check? My situation is - I am in a parental leave receiving employment insurance from the federal government?

Similarly, Pg#3, Q#14
Employment History - how to provide the response given I am currently in a parental leave?
I checked the application guide, unfortunately, there is no information on this. Any help or pointing towards where I could get help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. !
Unemployed.

also remember the EI income wont be included when they evaluate you for income requirements whenever that happens

Neither is it a Canadian value or any kind of value to not read instructions and requirements BEFORE making declarations that you meet requirements and submit EOI and taking away a spot from someone else who is deserving.
Hey nayr69sg, you got your email invitation yet? If so, congratulation heh
I did not make it this time and hope could do next time... but seeing more and more people asking for question like these, it is kind of amusing, and sad at the same time :(
And you maybe right, they should probably hire a pro to explain the chance for them

As a side note (and my intent is not to change the focus of this thread); I was trying to gauge the immediate economic impact of (say) all ~26,626 of us rushing to pay the $2250 CAD fees -assuming that most are sponsoring two parents and paying the biometric fees as well.

This will result in appx $60M CAD in the coffers of the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada. To note:

- The amount is chump change when you consider the budget of this ministry was $1.6B in 2017 Fiscal Year. $60M CAD is just 0.4% of $1.6B; but at the same time...
- Given the average salary of Canadian is $51,000 CAD, this represents a year's wages for ~1175 people.

What would be really interesting is if there was a way to find out the total amount of wealth that all parents will bring to Canada and invest in some form or the other. Now that, would not be an insignificant sum.

Say on an average each set of parent brings in $500,000 CAD, (this is a random number and I am just using this number to give an example of the scale of this program), the investment of 26,000 parents is ~$13B.

Not bad for a program that has seen much hate....

A friend got invited to sponsor her parents and she just realized her 2016 assessment is a couple thousand below minimum amount. 2017 and 2018 is more than enough and she's wondering if her application will be denied due to this. Anyone has an insight about this?

FYI - the fees paid for sponsorship don't cover the full costs of processing the application. Rest is covered by tax payers.

Hi All,

In imm5406e Additional Family Information, where should my parents write their name in native language...the box for Name is big enough only to fit the English name. Should I use a new form for native language? so it will be one form in English and other form in native.

She will be denied. She must meet LICO for all three years to be approved as a sponsor. No point submitting the application. She shouldn't have submitted an entry into the lottery since she didn't qualify.

1. Will form SCHEDULE A BACKGROUND INFORMATION 5669E HAVE A BAR CODE ONCE COMPLETED .

2. In same form, if my father have no education, how do i fill this. because leaving year blank is giving error...

The to date is the date stamped on her passport for exit. Ideally 2 years from entry.
I agree, that's what I did. The date that the immigration officer stamped on her passport to leave Canada.

I am sorry @babybenz I was always a big fan of your posts. And sad now that I keep seeing posts from people who are not eligible on grounds of low income but got a spot that they now won’t be using. Better luck next time. And hopefully the government comes up with a solution like collecting money up front with the EOI form if they have a second round (which they well might have this year.... Keep your spirits up and keep a look out).

I’m gonna email forms, mum will sign and mail it back via courier
Yes I’m doing the same. Remember all signatures have to be original “wet signatures”. If they have access to a printer you can email them the blank forms, they print sign and courier back, then you sign here. My parents don’t have a printer let alone a computer or internet so am couriering both ways. Courier to and from India takes 4 days each way.

Hi All - Can I please have your help

1) how can you find out when you become Canadian citizen. it is question #7 on the application to sponsor form.
2) if you are a naturalized Canadian citizen, do you still need to fill in the UCI in the same question? if so, where to find that Unique Client Identifier?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
