Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2019

Hello,

I am able to see my parents' application status when login in as a GC key but when I check the status on the cic.gc.ca website says your information is incorrect or we didn't start processing your application yet? How do I know if they started processing my application? For status checking, I am using my primary applicant's information?

My parents had a medical exam 3 days ago and didn't see any change in GC key status or didn't receive any confirmation email from the doctor. Any way to check if they received medicals?

It takes several weeks to appear "medical received" in the MyCIC account after medical is done.

I just contacted my MP to request IRCC for update. His office staff got back to me saying that the file has been transferred to Vancouver (I have no idea when-original Visa office was London) and they have not started Criminality, security and Medical for the applicant yet. I have not even received a Medical request. Applied June 2019 and Ecas shows

"We started processing your application on Dec 8, 2021"

Any idea how long is it going to take from here? I am so disappointed

Mine is similar to your . In Gckey it says application submitted in ecas it says “started processing your application on August 2021” . File was originally in cpc Mississauga, in August 2021 received letter that file transferred to London. In feb asked mp office to enquire, the staff came with surprise that file is in Vancouver. I told her that as per last information file was in London and provided her with proof of letter , she said wherever it is but bg check under process . Again enquired mp staff in April . Now she said file is back in London due to more load in Vancouver. Don’t know what is going on. London office even not replying to queries.

I did inform NDVO about my mom being here in canada via Webform, but I have no clarity about how my dad will get his COPR (he is in India and not a PA), I still have few days left for my mom to go back and submit their passport, I am just confused, should I just send her back, so that they both can submit their passports, and not have to worry about virtual landing, which is taking forever anyways? Any opinions on this matter?

I would suggest send her back and they both can land together . currently , the situation is in your hand . once the PPR letter expires, then control is back in the hands of ircc to send u another letter for virtual landing, which we have heard some horror stories about. and i think it takes particularly longer if they have already sent you an approval, but then you mention a change in location.

They sent me an email about steps on how to send the passport however she is not in the Philippines, She is in US right now on vacation, The link that they sent me for VFS doesn't have an option for US as i haven't change her address. My question is if i send email for her address change are they going to send another email that will have VFS US location? or anyone in similar situation? Kindly appreciate if someone will respond. Thank you

Congratulations on receiving passport request.
In my observations, changing the address and getting another PPR may take too long perhaps several months.
If you are not in hurry, you can send an email or webform.

Depending upon the age of your parents, OHIP can start right from they land there.
Check ON government site. As I am from BC, I am not very sure.

I was informed by IRCC today that my filed got transferred again back to London Visa Office from Vancouver!!

WHAT IS HAPPENNING! SO FRUSTATED WITH THIS BACK AND FORTH!

As of today, I think they are still waving the 3 months waiting period for OHIP. But I don't know if that may change when your parents landed.

Make sure they stay and fulfill the requirement.

The email stated that we should act within 30 days upon receiving the email. Would you think it’s best for me to wait for the response from the web form I sent? Or go ahead and send the passport?

in order to get OHIP card, you need COPR, ID proof (passport will do) and Address proof. The address proof is the problem. Bank statement is accepted as address proof , but once you open a bank account, it will take a month for the statement. So you are looking at minimum wait of 1 month.

Utility bills in your name is accepted ... if you want to change one of the utility bills to be in their name... but again will have to wait for the monthly bill...
