Hi. what does it means "copy of passport for applicant'? Does it include both the older passport copies and the current valid one or send copy of the valid passport?

You should renew first, it only takes few days to renew vs passport getting renewed mid process in Sept 2019 which will create you extra work in updating CIC with latest information and they might ask you to resubmit application forms with new passport numbers

I checked with my lawyer he says looks like it is legit. Just got to wait for the email.

Not yet, they started sending emails today again. But this might be tomorrow as they are sending it according to submission time
