Hi all, I got a letter from the CIC requesting the following (in italics). My parents don't have a marriage certificate and it looks like they are not accepting affidavits. Can anyone please else share their experience about sending Adhaar card/voter ID in place of the marriage certificate? Or some other document like a passport that shows clearly their relationship. Thank you in advance,

Marriage Certificate / Licence: Marriage/certificate(s) As proof of relationship to your spouse please provide the Aadhaar and Voter’s ID card for yourself and your spouse. NOTE: Affidavits are not acceptable as proof of relationship
Can someone please share their experiences if you have send the aadhar and voter id in place of marriage certificate and if that was acceptable?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi everyone,

I would like to ask for your experience and thoughts, please.

I have booked flight tickets for my parents to fly to Canada early next month, they are preparing for their trip. The only thing that I am concerned is that the Covid19 situation in Vietnam is getting worse, which might result in potential flight cancelation (due to government constraints and airline regulations changes). I surely hope that nothing is going to happen but just in case it happened, what choices do we have? Visa would expire if we did not fly out on time, what would we do in such a case?

Thanks,

I got the same email, even though I had sent marriage certificate of my parents with original application. I sent them following documents via myCIC and email:

Marriage Certificate
Voter Card for both parents
Aadhaar card for both parents

Applicant from INDIA:
Biometric received on 12th August, Medical Request received 13th August. When do we expect for Police clearance? Also my parents holding USA Green Card and Canada Visitor visa, they are planning to visit Canada end of this month. We require PCC from India. Also they were in USA for more than 6 months, Do they require Police clearance from USA as well?
Thank you.

Thanks. That is odd that even with a marriage certificate they needed it. Did they have any further requirements after that? TIA

Why don't you move their flight to earlier date if they can come?

Hello everyone, I am sponsoring my parents. A request was made for police certificates. CIC asked for the original. CIC also provided a link to the webform for us to attach any requested document, but also said to contact the VAC office in Accra to send originals. I'm a bit confused. Do I send the link through the web form only or do I mail a hard copy to the VAC office in Accra or do both? Anyone come across this scenario and can provide some advice? Thanks in advance.
