I will suggest to apply when they are in Canada. So they won't need to go for biomatric. And other reason is you can get their signatures on forms. Ask them to bring everything with them such as Marriage certificate Copies and any other required document for application. You don't need to pay biomatric fee if they are in Canada legally.Hi, My parents are in India right now but coming to canada (have supervisa) for an extended stay (likely more than 12 months )on June 10th. I am really confused if I should apply now and pay biometrics fee because then they will probably have to go to home country for biometrics on an urgent basis in the next 2-3 months or should I wait and apply after they come here on June 10th as then they will not need biometrics as they will then be present in Canada while applying? Another question if I apply after they arrive do I pay biometric fees or not? Will highly appreciate any feedback. Thanks a lot !
If you are applying as a member of the family class and are legally in Canada when you apply, you are currently exempt from giving biometrics. Your accompanying overseas dependents may need to give their biometrics.
