I have been on DM2 since March 04, 2020 with both Sponsorship and Permanent Residence status showing as Decision made in Ecas. The file is with CPC-Mississauga and we have been waiting for PPR since March. My mom has been in Canada for last 8 months on visitor visa and my dad just arrived last week from India on visitor visa. I have raised a webform informing CIC that my dad is now here in Canada and will stay here for next 3-4 months and I have requested CIC to update the parents address to Canada and requested them to issue COPR directly if possible as it seems their file is at the final stage. I have not yet received reply from CIC on the webform. Is there anything I can do to trigger the COPR?

Congratz on your DM2 and you did the right thing by informing CPC-M that your parents are now residing in Canada + address update. While CPC-M is currently picking up the pace clearing the backlog I believe you will be contacted at some point of time to go through virtual landing (instead of receiving the PPR + physical COPR). Many inland applicants have recently gone through virtual landing under the new pilot.

Hi guys,

My father in law's passport expires in 2 months and he just got a PPR.
What should I do to prevent him getting the visa added in the new passport (that he just applied for) to expire when the old passport actually expires since I read an experience that even they provided both of the passports, new and old, they got the visa stamped in the new passport expiring as the old passport was expiring.
Their medicals expire end of March next year and this is the date we need.

Why do you want visa stamped in the old passport? Get the new passport and send it for visa stamping.

As I know. In order to issue visa. The passport has to valid for at least 12 months. Better to renew passport and submit it.

I don't want that. I mentioned sending the old passport only as a proof, because the application has the number of the old passport. I'm saying that even if you send the new passport, I read somewhere, I guess on this forum, that they issued the with an expiry of the old passport. Because they, I guess already issued that visa based on the information of the expiry date they have on file, and that is from the old passport.

They requested the passport not be older than 6 months. And of course we'll submit a new passport. The problem is that the application needs to somehow be updated before this so they don't issue the visa with the expiration date of the old passport i.e. what they have on file.

Why not send both passports: The old one will be marked as cancelled in most of the countries.

Hey guys my parents and brother will be traveling in 3 weeks from Ahmedabad to Delhi to Toronto through Air India on valid coprs issued on July 2nd 2020.

I have few questions for their flight if someone can please answer them

1- will thier immigration be in Ahmedabad or Delhi airport ?

2- I am guessing their bags will be taken at Ahmedabad airport till Toronto?

3- What documents do they need to keep with them? Like which forms?

4- what does a quarantine plane consist of? Is it a hand written letter?

I have sponsored them so I am renting a new appartment for them under my name. We will get the keys on Oct 1st for it . What needs to be on their quarantine plane? They gonna be going straight from the airport to the apartment where they will quarantine. What do they need to give at the airport for quantaine plane?

4- if the answer to the first question is Ahmedabad then what do they need to do after getting off the first flight go straight to the gate for the second flight?
