Also think about us poor folks stuck with the likes of London and Mexico :D
Our file has been in Mexico since August 20, 2019. One year, and it still shows as application received on ECAS, so they haven't even opened the file after 1 whole year ...
This is just ridiculous, every single thing that they have requested we sent it within less than a week, we sent the CSQ in November 2019 and still nothing, just the standard email that we are on a queue, this was the slowest office in the world and now with the pandemic, I cannot even imagine how slow they will become, it will take them years to be up to speed

Haha, I'd have to disagree and say that Mexico is the absolute slowest! My mom's file has been there for 9 months now with no movement since transferred there. It's going to be a long wait.
my mother's file has been there since August 20, 2019, so I feel your pain. This office was probably the slowest in the world BEFORE the pandemic, can you imagine how slow they will be from now on ?

Just the thought of how slower they are now with the pandemic really scares me. I don't even know why my mom's file was transferred there when she's been here on supervisor, which actually expires next year

Sorry if this is a silly question but I wanted to be sure before proceeding.
I need to send a web form to IRCC informing them of my baby's birth. Whose information do I put as Applicant and who's do I put as Enquirer. Since this affects the sponsorship file I thought both would be my information but not sure. Please advise. Thanks in advance
I had to do the same thing in June. I’m a co-signer on the application and the representative and every time I’ve tried to send an update they say they can’t verify the information. We eventually had to get my mother in law to travel into the city to go to an Internet cafe to submit the information. It’s so stupid.

They were at the time of application submitted. They are back home and will be back in Canada next month.
If they have 6 months of history in Canada, maybe that's a reason you got fingerprint requests. Once they are back you can submit this request.

First of all, this is the wrong forum to ask question on student visa.

Generally speaking, visa officers look for connections to your home country (something that ties you to go back after your studies.) and ability to provide yourself while in Canada. Showing funds in your account alone isn't sufficient. Another thing to keep in mind is to be able show where you got the funds and how long those funds have been in your account. For example, someone could easily borrow money and dump a pile of money into an account just to show it to the visa officer. For that reason, visa officers look for evidence of income and you must be able to explain the sudden influx of large deposit in your account.

So, just showing what you mentioned above won't be enough to get a visa. Look for student visa forum to ask questions with regard to student visa. They may have different opinions than mine. Good luck!

Does it have to be continuous stay of 6 months in Canada for RCMP fingerprint trigger?

Hi All, I have kind of good news for people that are processing their application at the Mexico office and parents are here in Canada. My mom’s application has been approved.

As per June 25, 2020 email
“I can confirm that the file has been approved but that, do to the coronavirus pandemic, we are not in a position to proceed to the final steps. Mexico has officially declared the coronavirus pandemic a national public health emergency; suspending all but essential activities in the private and public sectors and asking the population to stay home. Accordingly, the Immigration section of the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City is currently working with essential staff only and providing essential urgent services through teleworking. This limits our ability to process paper-based applications, to request/receive passports, and to print visas. Equally, we are not in a position to extend or re-issue permanent resident visas for those who are unable to travel before the expiration of their documents. We will be in contact with you with further instructions when we are able to do so.”

I replied to this email saying that she was here in Canada and I would like her application to be sent to a Canadian office for final steps, they replied back with this yesterday:

“Please note that your application has already been flagged for an in-Canada landing, though we do not have any part of the proceedings beyond informing our in-Canada offices that you are presently located in Canada. In-Canada landings are being performed as capacity allows, though note that these offices are also facing COVID-related disruptions”

so for people in my similar situation you might be getting your in-Canada landing too. I haven’t received yet but we might soon.
