Hi guys,

I might be jumping the gun here, but I want to be prepared for what might come and what are my options. My sponsorship application was received on June 3rd, and of course I do not have any AOR yet. I am currently expecting, and my mom is planned to come and help me with the baby at the beginning of October and she will stay until February. I am 100% certain that the biometrics request will come in that timeframe. Now, I have read that some parents did not receive any BIO requests since their parents were in Canada. Is this because they already gave their biometrics in the past 2 years, or IRCC is very considerate and does not ask for BIO because it cannot be done in Canada? Is the only alternative to go to US for the bio? I really would not like to spend thousand dollars just for this, and also my mom does not have US visa. Has anyone been in this position that can give any advice?

Thanks,
Bici

Normally bio request will come based on location of parent at the time of applicants on. If parent are in Canada at the time of application then BIO is not sent but if outside Canada then Bio is sent. Though there are very few exceptions and no one knows why. So most likely you will get BIO.

@robertp @idefix

So I received my mom's medical request today at around noon (no SA or Bio yet)
I booked an appointment right away for 1:45 pm today at Panel Physician North York, 2065 Finch Avenue West, Suite 309, Ontario, M3N 2V7, website: https://www.panelphysiciannorthyork.ca

Very nice staff. Everything was done in 1.5 hours.
They have blood test, urine test and x-ray, all in the same bldg. parking is free (validated at x-ray dept.) Cost was $265 all included.
They said that it will take up to 10 business days to send the result to CIC.

as mentioned before, I have not received SA or BIO yet. My mom did bio for visitor visa less than 2 years ago so maybe she is exempt from doing it again.

Thanks and good luck!

That is awesome news!. Congrats. I sent in my application via courier on May 27th to sponsor my Mom and I have not heard back from CIC yet. We tried to link the application online and could not do so either. I have sent in an online query.

Should I be concerned ?

You will get BIO...you can either apply for US visa or go to Mexico without any visa (Canadian visitor visa doesn't need one)

Your eCas was pre-maturely activated (search forum for "crazy intern theory")...They are dragging May 27th since last week and only May 29th eCas activated today. I am from June 3 and hoping to get something by next Friday.

************Biometrics*************
Any experience on avoiding Biometrics if applicant is already in canada? Can we avoid biometrics informing CIC 2-3 weeks in advance that applicant arriving to canada and planning to stay 6months? Can this biometrics done in canadian ON border?
I am also looking for similar info?

Did you check your ecas? Was there any missing doc request?

You won't spend a thousand dollars, just drive to the border and go to the nearest Biometrics collection point, I assure you the drive will be longer than the actual fingerprint taking

Hi friends. I got my mother’s medical done today. She is 85. Her memory test did not go well. She could answer 50-60%of questions.i understand that it could be onset of dementia.. Could this become reason for refusal. Appreciate any feedback from seniors members on the forum.
