All EI are subject to tax, which makes this whole debate more interesting."Employment insurance: maternity, parental and sickness benefits paid under the Employment Insurance Act are considered income. Other payments such as employment insurance and federal training allowances are not considered as income."
This makes me feel like. Maternity/parental and sickness benefits will be counted by IRCC as income because CRA taxes it. Differently, regular EI (other payments as mentioned above) is not taxed by CRA => IRCC will not count it as income. Conclusion, IRCC will count incomes taxed by CRA. This method is easiest for both applicants and IRCC officers.
@joshijay3006
I think it was same day. So it went from Application Received to DM directly.Congrats!
Do you know how long it took for your application from "in process" to DM?
Morning- evening? Just few hours?
And are your parents in Canada or not?
Thank you and good luck in further processing!I think it was same day. So it went from Application Received to DM directly.
I never saw it in 'In process' stage.
The last time I checked Ecas was Friday last week and I just checked today. We received the Biometrics request last monday - June 15, so it probably took only 1 to 3 days from App Received to DM (for Sponsor). Most likely it was SAME day because they probably won't be sending the Biometrics request if the Sponsor was rejected.
Parents are NOT in Canada.
Following is the Process for the parents Sponsorship.What would be the next steps after SA? How long will the biometric request normally expire? Thank you!
Are you in the tracker? When was your application reached Ottowa?I have a ques- are you guys checking the ECAS with the details of the sponsor or the applicant's UCI number (Parents)?
