Parents and grandparents Sponsorship 2018

Hi everyone,
I have three questions:
1- Does it want any documents for the first round of registration that would be in January (before getting the invitation to apply)? Or it is just a quick survey?
2- If I want to sponsor three parents (my mother and my wife's mother and father), and we co-sign for each other, then is the minimum income differs from the time we sponsor only one parent?
3- I have scholarship income (~30k per year) for the past three years that didn't appear in the NOA. In fact, NOA just shows taxable income and the scholarship was not taxable. Is it possible in any way to count that as income as well (like attaching some pay stubs, etc.)? Or the cic just accepts the NOA?

1 - Wait until rules are posted for 2018
2 - Family size for LICO = you + spouse + 3 parents (if you are both selected in lottery) + any dependents
You will need to win your own lottery spot to sponsor your own mother, and your wife will need to win her own lottery spot to sponsor her parents.
3 - Only income recorded in NOA qualifies

Scholarship, Fellowship, PhD stipendship etc are not counted for parents sponsorship, only employment income recorded on NOA is counted toward the cut off. No matter if you sponsor 1 parent or 3 parents, you have to include all 4 parents unless 1 of them passed away or separated/divorced

No, if 1 of them is not selected in lottery, those parents are not included in family size.

Parents aren't included in family size unless they're actually being sponsored.

“Interest to Sponsor” form will be available at noon EST on January 2, 2018. Those who wish to apply to sponsor their parents and grandparents in 2018 must first fill out this online form. It will be available until noon February 1, 2018.

Additional questions have been added to the 2018 version of the “Interest to Sponsor” form to help potential sponsors self-assess whether they are eligible to sponsor.
So these are just additional questions to "self-assess". Sounds like they are not asking additional document or proof.

sigh...yea this doesn't help...
just look at how many non-qualifying people come to this forum and ask questions like "i have enough incomes in past 3 years but not in tax filed in Canada", "what is my family?", and still think they qualify or CIC will make exceptions if they explain to them...
Just look at the other 2018 thread., one lady, who doesn't meet income requirement, got the lottery picked last year and thinks CIC will make exception if she explains/lawyer up, that she need her parents because she cannot afford day care for her child...
These people are just going to do it anyway and see if they get it.
We all know "to make it fairer" is not the reason they changed to lottery....

yes, lots of people don't understand the meaning of Lottery.
may be they will put questions of self assess so that those who don't qualify, wont apply and observe patience.

I really doubt that whoever applied and didn't qualify didn't know that they don't.
They just think that since it's allow, they might as well try.

Hi Guys, Anyone knows what years criteria we need to meet before applying? Will it mentioned later by them on the site? I want to ensure I meet it before applying as a sponsor.

@Rob_TO Can you help on this?

It will be either 2014/2015/2016, or 2015/2016/2017. From what I see the official 2018 rules are not posted yet so need to wait until they are, probably in January

Last year it started out as 2013/2014/2015, but IRCC changed it to 2014/2015/2016 when they realized how badly the lottery was run so first app submission was significantly delayed.

You need to wait until 2018 rules are released. Until then all anyone can do is guess.

I came to canada in 2015 under spousal sponsorship. I would definitely meet financial requirement for 2016 and 2017 but not 2015 :(

can we not express consent and choose the "year" in which we want to sponsor? like for me, if i can choose 2019 cuz i'll have met income requirements for 16/17/18?
