Please advise is the departmental processing time menrioned the same like 2019 ones for you guys also. It says 12 months for us, like from the date of submission of case to original office not local office.

Its not 12 months for anyone. Tiimeline for any application submitted after January 2017 is 20-24 Months. You can check CIC website too

On website it says 20 to 24 months. But in 2019 applicants AOR from london office, it says departmental processing time is 12 months from date of original submission of application.

So was wondering if the same line was mentioned in ur London office AOR too?

No i don't have this on the letter i have. May be its different in your case

Please advise - I am submitted an application to sponsor my parents and received an email confirmation from CIC a couple of months ago that application was accepted. A couple of weeks ago (while my parents were on a phone, aware of the process), I linked paper application online. I did not fill out "Use of Representative Form" as I am not handling my parents application. However, today I read on CIC website that only sponsors that completed "Use of Representative" form can link the application. Has anyone came across the same problem? What would you recommend to do?

If you are not handling your parent's application, have one of your parents linked the application to his/her account. If you tried linking it to your own account, CIC will refuse it if you don't have Use of Rep form filled out even though you are not handling the application. CIC has no way of knowing who is linking who is linking application with the intention of NOT to handle the application. That's why they request Use of Rep form for everyone who wishes to be in the loop and be informed of decisions etc.

My recommendation is to either fille out Use of Rep form and link it to your account or have your parents link it to their accounts.

I'm here from 2019 parents sponsorship.

My file is stuck in process since over 2 months now for the SPONSOR part. They said they have sent an inquiry to the province if I've ever received social assistance which i have not. My province is Ontario.


Does any of you went through this " Province Request Letter" and has any idea about it.

Hey this is something new than. As there are atleast 6 people on the 2019 tracker that have been told they sent a letter to the province if we got social assiatmce ever and waiting for a response. I have never took any money from the government and it already took them 3 months and still waiting for something i never took.

This is brutal. People after us way after us already got pre arrival and we are still waiting for sponsor approval

How long does it usually takes to complete the background. I might need to move out of Canada for my job. I am worried what will happen to the PGP application, if i move out now!

Sorry i have no information. I think it is varying for 2018 applicant. Not sure why.

You can check the time lines in Excel sheet , link is in my signatures. You can estimates from there. It should not take more than 2-3 months. But for police and Military background it is more. Some one told me for police it was 1 year.

I m waiting.

Not military background but government employees - bgc in progress for almost 1.5 months

It's different for govt employees, normally background check gets completed in 2-7 days. When was the medical passed for you and is it in NDVO?

Yes, waiting . It is for police job background . I know few who got visa with govt jobs background. But some are waiting those have govt jobs background. Lots of variation.

Has the bgc started for you? Do you know how long the bgc takes for govt employees?

If I submit Use of Representative form should the form date match the date when I linked the application?

Medical passed in July, it is in Mississauga.

Also, as they are living with me, would that gives me any income tax credit?
