My application for 2018 was in the first batch. Looks like its stuck or moving very slowly.

My timeline is as follows:
Application received by IRCC: 28th May 2018 (Its strange as my tracking number shows it was received on 25th May 2018)
AOR : 19th Oct 2018

Is it normal?

Nope. They just give me a file number

on average normal time for AOR is 3 months approx

Not true. A good portion of 1st round applicants received aors in about 5 months.

Decision made for PA on Nov 12. Got PPR request on Nov 20. Passport reached Ottawa on Dec 05.

Looks like they are very slow in processing . I have not received anything. In SS I am at Line 187. I have not received any message in cic account or email . Still shows They will send message once they will start reviewing the file. I got my AOR on 12th October.

Yours took quite a while for some reasons. Five months to get AOR is pretty significant. But, there are other applicants that had to wait 6 months for AOR, while other got AORs in just a few weeks. No one knows for sure why there's a discrepancies on processing time, but the general assumption is that complex applications takes longer to process. For example, if you have sponsored your spouse or someone before, then it may take a while to check if those previously sponsored people have received government support.

But, generally speaking, it takes 3 months to get SA from AOR date. So, you are still within that range.

I wish mine was fast like some of the lucky few. But, SS shows that mine or yours is not the worst case and it could have been worse. That's how I'm controlling myself not to write anything to CIC for more info

I just received the PPR/COPR letter 15 minutes ago.
I have applied for my father and mother-in-law. Currently my father -in-law (principal applicant) is in India. But my mother in law is in Toronto.
The letter I have received gives me both option of submitting their passports to either VFS India or in Ottawa through pre-paid Xpressport (by Canada Post)

Big Question - Can I submit my father in law's passport in India and my mother in law's in Canada seperatly or do i need to submit them together?

Is there any process for such situation?

Do you know if I can call at any number and ask IRCC?

Please help. I am super confused now.
