Hi! Im just wondering.. How long do they usually take to open and start processing the application after they received it from the courier? I want to include my brother as dependent and her daughter but he will turn 22 this coming April 22 and im planning to submit the application on 2nd week or 3rd week of April. Thank you!

Hi...
I have question regarding income requirements.

Me and my spouse together meeting the income requirements. My spouse is cosigner in my application. I was on mat leave since April 2016 to March 2017.. is EI not considered in annual income? I am reading threads and getting an idea that EI is not included in annual income of family.

Can you send link where it mention in cic website...

I am not worried because I am meeting the income criteria even if i am excluding EI.

Thanks.
Maternity EI counts. Regular EI does not.

Dependent ages are locked in at the time of submission, so it doesn't matter when the application is actually opened, only when it is received. Note that if the app is returned for any reason after your brother turns 22, he will not be able to be included when re-submitting.

Is the brother married or common-law?

As mentioned IRCC needs to receive the app to lock in the age, so you better not leave to the last minute in case of a delay in delivery. Also you need to make extra certain the app is perfect with no errors, so they don't return it back to you.

I'm not clear about the processing time. Don't they just process the completed application package in a few months (like a regular PR application, e.g. skilled worker, that meets all the requirements)? Or is it much longer?
There is a strict quota on how many PR visas they issue each year. Seeing as there is currently a backlog and some people have been waiting 7+ years for their parents apps, it makes sense they are processed first over more recent apps.

But we've also seen some recent apps submitted in past few years, already completed. So really it's anyone's guess how this latest bunch will get processed.

Considering the Number of Applicants who posted in this group and are selected to apply but do not have eligibility , There will be a second draw for sure , as there must be thousands of another applicants with similar scenarios who are not even aware of this forum.
They already picked 5000 extra apps, so if they stick to the 10K cap that will allow 1 in 3 apps to be ineligible. Despite the several here we've seen, I doubt they will see 5K ineligible making chance of a 2nd draw very slim.

Need help with the form below.
I am at my current job since March 2008 to Present, let us say I make $ 85,000 a year. In the Gross Income Column should I put $ 850,000 (85,000 * 10) or $ 255,000 (85,000 * 3). I just want make sure I get it right :)

From previous posts, the brother is not common-law or married.

Thanks Rob! They are not married and they don't live together but they have a kid. They are not going to bring the baby here in Canada because the mother doesn't want to.

So once they signed the courier who delivered the application thats the start of lock in age, am i right?

Note that the baby must still be included in the family size for income calculations, and must still do a medical exam.

To be safe I would make sure IRCC receives the application before the lock-in date is required. So again don't leave it to the last minute.

I have not selected for the first lottery draw this year... I am hoping there will be a 2nd draw. Congrats to all who were selected. Does anyone have received an email confirming you are not selected? I didn't receive any.
