Today we received Pre-arrival services letter in CIC portal after a long wait (medicals were done in July end).
What are the next steps?

I applied for my MIL's PR last year. Got invitation to apply in the second round :
Application received : OCt 11, 2017
Started Processing: July 16, 2018
Medical Request: July 17, 2018
Medical Passed: August 2018

CIC Online : received pre arrival letter and status is "background process started"

Then on November 5, 2018 they sent an email saying to make final decision you have been selected for interview in Edmonton (as we live in Edmonton and my MIL is on supervisa)
Yesterday, then received email from New Delhi Office to submit passport for finalize the application.

My MIL is currently in India and will be back next month.
So we are not sure, whether to send passport to New Delhi (as she is in India) or attend the interview here in Edmonton (she will be back before the interview)
Please advise....

Hi Yulia,
Do you have the contact number for CIC.
I tried calling 1-888-242-2100. The only options available are automated messages.
search thru 2017 and 2018 treads, people gave it
Please note: I approached a consultant for my parents file. That person is of no help. his only reply is over the text messages and last text message was Sorry, I cannot debate ( when I asked what could be the reason)

I want to leave that consultant but I paid like $3000 ( for both parent)
omg but why, its not big deal to do all by yourself and free

It says failure to appear for interview perceived as lack of interest and application could be refused

you have the due date when you can sending passport so look if you are ok send it here to Ottawa

I would send passport to New Delhi Visa office, and also put MP inquiry, MP inquiry will be helpful to know exactly what is happening on your file. You have time for edmonton interview, send passport in mean time. The passport won't take more than 10 days. Interview letter could be mistake too. As your visa office is New Delhi and your MIL in India, there is no point to arrange interview in Edmonton. so my advice, sent passport to New delhi. and for safe side go for MP inquiry too.

I have asked my MIL to submit passport at New Delhi and also informed the Edmonton embassy.

I wonder if there's anybody here whose parents' PR application was processed outside of Canada but who sent their passports to CPC Ottawa instead, as suggested in the letter, because they are in Canada now?

Has there been any issues? How long did it take to get the passport back, please?

How does this work Yulia? Should they ignore what is written in letter (i.e. send to NDVO) and send to Ottawa? or the letter doesn't specifically ask any LVO to be sent to?

usually they give 2 options - Ottawa and local VO
