Hello,

I wanted to provide an update on my parents' permanent residence application. Please see the timeline below:

Application Received by IRCC: November 24, 2017
AOR: December 21, 2017
Sponsors' Eligibility Cleared: March 23, 2018
Medical and Police Clearance Request: April 9, 2018
Medical Completed: April 18, 2018
Police Clearance Certificate Delivered: April 23, 2018
Further Medical Request for Dependent: May 1, 2018
Further Medical Assessment Completed for Dependent: May 8, 2018, and July 20, 2018
MyCIC Status was updated to:

• You passed the medical exam.

DNA Request from IRCC: November 12, 2018
DNA Results sent to IRCC: March 6, 2019
MyCIC Account Status Updated on March 8, 2019 (no email received yet):

• We have requested a medical exam. We will send you a letter or email with details.
• The additional documents you provided have been uploaded.
• We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.

I just don't understand why they don't request all the documents at the same time. Does anyone know what could be the next steps, once we receive the medical request and complete it?

Your excel sheet medical comment show "Upfront medical". What does that mean? I thought non-EDE medical can only be done after request is made from Visa Office and not upfront. Did you do medical and submit with your application?

We didn't do upfront medical. It was requested later in the process when the application was sent to LVO.

I became a canadian citizen last year in october. Do you guys think that I should update the sponsorship application and send them a copy of passport/citizenship certificate, as previously i submitted the PR card copy along with the application.

Couple months after medical pass they might pass your eligibility and then start a 6 to 8 months of security check.
Your medical may or may not expire by the time security is passed.

This is the turtle known as London LVO.

Hi Yulia,

If you please go through my previous messages, may be you can help me, what is the meaning of
"We will inform you in writing of the decision made on your sponsorship application. We will send you a Permanent Resident Kit that you will need to forward to the family class relative you are sponsoring."
Medical for Parents is already submitted to LVO. Some of group members told me that there Might Pass your eligibility and Security Check? Can you explain about eligibility and security check. Thanks

Might pass you means if they think case should be passed they will pass it. Eligibility is proving you as sponsor meet the requirement and that the people you are sponsoring are your relatives and it's established. You don't need to be alarmed if your not faking anything.

Security check secret per act S.15(1). CSIS or other government organization check for war crimes and other security issues your applicants may pose to Canada.
