Hi,

I am Canadian by birth but have 4 children born in UK and Ireland. I understand that the kids are Canadian citizens at birth.
I have applied for residency certificates for the 4 of them but these are yet to arrive.

We are moving back to Ontario in around 5 weeks time

The question is this .. do I require anything else for the kids to be admitted into Canada, we are travelling on "single" tickets ?

Some people have advised that as the kids are by rights Canadian a birth, if I take my birth cert and the kids certs that will be enough ?
Others have advised we will require facilitation visa ?

Answers like "it will probably be ok" isn't enough for us as the possibility of not being admitted and returning to England is beyond contemplation

Anyone know for sure ?

As your children are also citizens of the UK and traveling on their UK passports (I'm assuming, since they won't have their Canadian ones yet), they can be admitted to Canada as visitors for up to 6 months. That should be enough time for their Canadian citizenship to be finalized.

I am concerned with the fact that we have single tickets and children of school age, so it is obvious that we are moving for a period that would be in excess of 6 months. The Canadian Embassy in Dublin advised that we "must" have facilitation visa stamped to their passports.
