Paper TRV processing time within Canada

Hi. My paper TRV application reached CIC on November 14. I sent CIC an email last week, today they replied. They told me that my application was finalized on December 13th and that my passport will be returned to me shortly. I'm hoping Ill get home before the 25th!

onelittlepumpkin, when you say the paper application reached CIC on November 14, is that as per your Canada Post tracking or the automated system in CIC? Fingers crossed your passport is back on time

No. According to Canada Post Tracking it arrived CIC on November 8th. The automatic system in CIC tells me that it arrived on November 14th.

As per latest updated on CIC now they are working on Dec 4th application. Last week it was Nov 7th, so with in one week they moved to Dec 4th applications. There is definitely some error here

CIC has help people hostage in Canada.Can they just give out the passports even if they haven't approved visa? People want to travel and be with their families. This is very annoying!! Who can help the situation????

I called CIC customer care number (1-888-242‑2100) to know the status of my TRV application but got a response that because my application is with CPP Ottawa office they don't have any status & there is no way to contact Ottawa office other than email.
I don't know then why CIC has mentioned this number they don't have any status.
Did anyone contact CIC through phone & got this kind of weird response?

When i called to that same number , the agent was able to tell when my passport was put in the mail Dec 11 th , also told me that my visa was approved and the address where CPP mailed my passport back (My home address) which all the information was correct . I think they know whats going on in the Ottawa office they just don't care about giving any information. I called many times and before they all said they have no idea what is going on at the Visa Processing center CPP Ottawa .

Maybe you should try calling to the call center again and tell them that you called before and somebody already told you that your application was finalized on the 10 th , and they will send your passport shortly and it has been more that 2 months and you don't have your passport yet( makes them believe that you got information from the call center)Also , tell them you are worried that your passport got lost on the Mail( that is what i said ) and you have to flight soon. In order for the agent at the call center to give me that information he asked me for my CLIENT ID # . Do you have a client ID #?

Good luck and i will let you know whenever i get my passport , Hopefull soon otherwise i will have to cancel my flight which is the second one that i bought ( the first one was not refundable so i lost $1500 ) . and screw my family's vacation (Husband and two Kids).

This question is for the people who applied their TRV application here in Canada & received it successfully.
I know we can only apply here if we have valid study or work permit.
Did you guys applied along with your dependent family members. i.e. you applied your worker visa & for your family's visitor visa?
The reason why i am asking because there might be possibility that CIC is taking more time for these kind of applications.

Yesterday i have received my passport with TRV.
My paper application was received at CIC on 25th Nov, so CIC took total 35 days to process my application.

I am still waiting for my passport . i think it got lost in the mail since they send t back to by regular mail .

Is there any way they send us the passport by regular mail and it get misplaced in mail while it was freezing rain in GTA and all system was messed up.Hope to get my passport soon.

Hi! Has anybody here submitted a TRV application in Ottawa this year (paper application, no dependents) and were they able to process as per processing time? Please share your timeline. When I applied processing time indicated 8 calendar days, then the following week it changed to 10 days. I am worried cos I need to catch a flight on Feb 26th. My application docs reached Ottawa on Feb 7th.

Appreciate any inputs. I am planning to email CIC too.

Hi All,
On CIC site processing time is 21 days for paper TRV within Canada & currently they are processing application received on Oct 11th 2013.
I don't understand if they are processing Oct 11 application then processing time should be 40 days (last updated date is Nov 20th).
Then why they say 21 days? Did anyone receive visa stamped who applied after 11th Oct?
Please share your comments/experience.

I mailed my extension for TRV last Dec 5, 2013 and received it in my mail Feb 15, 2015
Its valid til Dec 2014
So around 3 months I got it since I mailed it .
