Guys I have been offered to deffer to Jan, May, Jul or September 2015. Just to remind you, I already had the passport request and the god damn new Letter of Acceptance request came today. What should I do? :'(

Yup. I have also been admitted to Brock. I am basically interested in finance. But i applied for visa on based of ottawa because i have heard its graduates are more employable. Now, i'd send revised letter of admission for Brock 2015 MSc finance. UNBC offers MSc research stream? Or its taught program? Would you have to pay for additional courses if you'd go in january or your research grant will cover it. Bro, join our database. It'd be a pleasure.

Very sorry for the late reply. Yes it is Research intensive program with 18 credit hours of research component and they Only accept students if any faculty would give supervisory commitment. All MSc in Canada are research Oriented. Telfer is good choice triple accredit B school. And I think you can opt finance major there on special approval. plz check ur inbox

Its not even their goddamn prerogative, i mean they dont even know s**t about academia and research and if research is theoretical or applied or if you have classroom component or not????? Completely f**ks me up to hear this s**t? Did they recommend or was it a concealed threat that they wouldnt give you goddamn visa?

This is the last leg of your thesis and after that you are going to be awarded a doctorate. This deferral would jeopardize your plans, and subsequent planning you have undertaken. What kind of high handed bul*shit is this. They think that they know more than research chair of alberta university about your discipline?

Anyway, the adviser apologizes for not knowing that I can't start other than September 2014 or January 2015. The admissions department has offered me 1 Jan, 1 May, 1 Jul or 1 Sep 2015. I have chosen 1 Jan which I think makes sense. Anyway, I am confident it will not cause any harm, provided I get the letter soon.

They only have innovation & entrepreneurship concentrations. You can structure your research in such a way that you can explore their working capital requirements, venture capital, capital structure, financial regulation, stock exchange listing and new listings performance but research scope in finance is pretty limited in these two concentrations.

Dil tay lay gyay o sarkar???? Yar dont waste your money and time on getting as many letters as you can. You are getting bogged into non issues yaar. Just apply well in time, with lot of funds, in a good program (Not MBA, because MBA is generalized degree, not suited for mid career guys having 3 years plus experience in any industry, like you, me, brass and few other people on this forum, instead go for MSc accounting/finance or international business, consider University of Windsor program specifically, also brock univeristy's M.Acc, univeristy of waterloo also has a program that may interest you) and dont change your application details. Keep the same details that you gave this time. Dont omit details that you gave this year like details of relative. Apply for visa 5 moths ahead of your classes so you have time for appeal. Good luck and relax, anger will not let you focus and concentrate. Angers has a way of getting directed inward bro, it makes you bitter, vitriolic and pessimist. Needless to say that the monster is a very ugly beast and we all hate it with all our hearts and souls. Cheers and good luck ahead.

Having two letters of each MSc and PHd is not going to cast a good impression. I mean, they'd think, what does this guy really whats, he wants to be in academia or industry, Phd is altogether a different animal than MSc. They serve to help your career in different ways. U go for Phd if you want to go in academia or consultancy or public regulatory bodies. You do Masters if you want to work in industry or you want international equivalence to make entry into Phd easier.
You had hard luck, but you gotta move on man....

Getting a PhD offer is first very difficult, particularly if you also need funding and secondly its a death trap. You can't get the visa and at the same time you can't back off because of the lucrative offer. I was offered my funding in February and since then, I am struggling. I can't even concentrate on anything, my performance has severely suffered. I would suggest, try your luck elsewhere. In Canada, the visa officer has more authority than your PhD adviser :-\
