ok friends here I am landed at calgary . Thanks for your support . Weather is good I actullay landed in edmonton and traveld to calgary some 3 hours to reach calgary . I got a room in ramada hotel it's cheap u can get it in 90 dollars and good 3 star hotel . I have already searched some apartment through a web site call kajiji .. And have seen some cars as transport isn't great in Alberta I heared it's better in Toronto and Montreal but in calgary u have to have your own vehicle so I will buy it tomorrow .. I have found a Pakistani lady who is willing to rent out room In her house and looking for paying guest this is some thing I am looking for caz it's better to pay them for foo and live worry free .. Let's keep fingure crossed if I get that . About city honestly my islamabad is much prettier then calgary . I have been to euorap euorpe is beautifully specially England and Germany are awsom . I bought cell phone connection with company calle bell that is the best I heared but expensive most I had to pay 200 dollar deposits to get that month to month connection since I brought my iPhone with me so I don't need phone . Plz bring your cell phones from Pakistan . My classes will start on September 8 so I have ample amount of time to travel across canada so what I am going I do is will travel from Alaska border to Montreal by road it's 2 week journy . I love traveling . As soon u will come here u will find a permanent companion from macdonolad called fish fillet burger so keep it in mind by the way if u like u can eat I guess chicken atleast in extreme conditions Lolz .. Oh an importent message for those coming to alberta plz bring enough clothing with u u won't find good clothes here and they r too expensive as well . There are enough Halal places in Calgary and they are in every quadrant of the city. Look at Zabihah.com for all your halal needs like restaurant, grocery, mosques etc. For rental, please check rentfaster.com. Ads on kijiji can be fake and may land you in trouble. Transit system is really good here but a little time consuming. I live around 8-10 minutes drive from SAIT Campus and the public transit takes about 15 - 20 minutes. Bell is a CDMA based cell phone provider and is expensive and their services are not good. But since you already have the connection test them out. Virgin has better coverage. Shopping in Calgary is expensive but you need to know the time and place to shop. One good place to shop is 20 minutes drive from calgary at Cross Iron Mills. Its a outlet mall. The best time to shop in Calgary is back to school which is going on now, boxing day (december 26th), spring breaks.

dont worry it will work . In Alberta the regulatory body which assess your qualification is called iqas I don't know what is it in saskatoon . But will be similar u r lucky in one way saskatoon is next canadian city which is going to boom up . Although it's a tiny city but will grow quickly now as all oil field are diverting to saskatoon . I won't go in detail but just one line Bell is the mother of telcom services here in Canada. FYI, Virgin mobile Canada is the subsidary of Bell Canada.

Wallmart and Dollarama are the places for affoardable prices. Iron Cross Mills is no doubt a nice place to shop but its expensive and a little out from the city area.

There is a good number of Halal resturants and stores in Calgary but is there is a well known Pakistani store called Calgary produce where you get every Pakistani item (even fresh roti and nan is available). There is also Friday musala in the seconf floor here.

Saskatchewan is not alot different than any other province in Canada.
Finish your school there and stick to it until you get your immigration as they have a good immigration program specially for Saskatchewan residents. Also enjoy the benefit of your car premium being paid by government. You dont get this benefit in any other province.
For cold, you will survive, winter is same in Canada. It might a month or two longer in Saskatchewan nothing to be worried.
Do not waste money and lauggage space by bringing winter stuff from Pakistan as they are not compatible with the winter here (I did this mistake and then I threw them in garbage after two year when they were of no use). You better buy one jacket but buy it here and same for other stuff.

my friend u said almost same things but if different way it is not lot different but different .. Winter is same but a bit longer Lolz ... Boss I hve shoped from Pakistan Dubai London Paris and now just visited few shops in calgary .. And there is no comparison between all places i mentioned .. And the kind of stuff I have seen in walmart or cross iron of some one give it to me for free I won't wear it .. Do I even know where these dresses are getting produced now a days ,, and let me tell u have no awareness about Pakistani clothings boss Pakistan isn't that Pakistan any more what u get in walmart for 20 dollars we use them to clean house with .

Bhai jan, I don't need to check, this is my own stuff. I am Network Analyst at one of the Bell's subsidiaries in Northern Canada. Please familiar yourself with the cellular technologies. In Canada, GSM is already phased out (don't know the dates) . Bell's cellular network is LTE and not CDMA (which started this year in Pakistan and you call it 4G) and HSPA. There are a very few sites like 8-10% which still serve CDMA and the reason is there are these few old customers (old people like above 50 and 60 years) who do not want to switch to the new smart phones. So thats why we cannot just completely shut down them.

Walmart is not that bad and most of the students and all middle class here prefer to buy things from there. You will see when you come here.
And you are right you can't buy cloths from Dollarama but there are other things that people need to buy for cheap. Like myself use to buy stationary, kitchenware and other domestic stuff from there.
