OWP to BOWP (LMIA Exempt) ?

Hello,

I am CEC inland, working for an Canadian IT firm on OWP. I have OWP as my spouse is on student visa.

As I am on OWP my Job offer does not qualify for LMIA exemption, I was looking for options, that is when I came to know about BOWP, I have few questions about BOWP.

1. Can I extend by OWP to BOWP, provided I meet the criteria of being in pool and OWP validity less than 4 months ?
2. if (1) is yes, would I be able to claim LMIA exempt points in EE on my job offer if I am on BOWP ?

1. It's not enough to be in the EE pool to apply for a BOWP. You must receive ITA (be selected out of the pool) and submit your complete application before you can qualify to apply for a BOWP.
2. No. Your employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA if you want to claim job offer points.

Yes, ITA is required.

You don't get AOR until AFTER you have received ITA and submitted your complete application.

Right. To get your AOR, you need your ITA. If you name is only in the "pool", you haven't submitted an application. Your have just created a profile. AOR is one of the last steps to PR.

Steps are:

- Create EE Profile
- Wait and receive ITA
- Submit documents and apply
- Receive AOR (documents received)
- Arrive in Canada
