I accidentally overstayed in Canada for a bit less than 4 months, I didn't receive my visa in the mail, in the past I received them, so when I emailed them to check on it, they advised me It had run out in December, it's now March. Therefore a week after I received that email I booked flights and came back to the UK. It took some time to gather funds but I left on my own accord.
The person in the email said that I should leave asap to avoid a removal order and if I got one I'd need authorization to return. I would have applied in those 90 days but since I had no idea I couldn't. I sent my application by mail.
I'd like to return in 1 year and 2 months to visit my friends, I can bring proof of being in education, having a job, enough funds and the email which I received from CIC and the dates I purchased tickets, plus the other 2 paper visas I had received.
How likely is it that'd I would be able to return? It was an honest mistake which I regret and have certainly learned from..
